Описание

Includes six new songs by Jessica Simpson, available exclusively in the Open Book audio book. Performed by the author featuring her music throughout.

Jessica reveals for the first time her inner monologue and most intimate struggles. Guided by the journals she's kept since age fifteen, and brimming with her unique humor and down-to-earth humanity, Open Book is as inspiring as it is entertaining.

This was supposed to be a very different book. Five years ago, Jessica Simpson was approached to write a motivational guide to living your best life. She walked away from the offer, and nobody understood why. The truth is that she didn't want to lie.

Jessica couldn't be authentic with her readers if she wasn't fully honest with herself first.

Now America's Sweetheart, preacher's daughter, pop phenomenon, reality tv pioneer, and the billion-dollar fashion mogul invites readers on a remarkable journey, examining a life that blessed her with the compassion to help others, but also burdened her with an almost crippling need to please.Open Book is Jessica Simpson using her voice, heart, soul, and humor to share things she's never shared before.

First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her book shares the wisdom and inspirations she's learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture cliché's—"chicken or fish," "Daisy Duke," "football jinx," "mom jeans," "sexual napalm…" and more. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.

Includes the songs "Heartbeat," "Practice What You Preach," "Sweet Temptation," "Your Fool"(featuring Willie Nelson), "Party of One," and "Free Will" by Jessica Simpson.

Wonderful insight into Jessica’s life growing up and her career over the years. I can appreciate anyone being this honest and vulnerable. So many relatable truths within her story. Got emotional more than once listening to her. I’m sure her story can resonate with so many women out there. Loved hearing the inflection in her voice as she spoke about things that were important to her. Everyone who put this together using her journal etc did an excellent job. I recommend binge listening this one!

So glad I chose the audiobook over reading Jessica’s memoir. Hearing her narrate her own life stories you feel how she was/is feeling at times of her life and it’s quite an emotional journey. Love Jessica’s music at the end too!

This was a wonderful book depicting in vivid prose the emotions that Jessica felt reliving her experiences that made her the woman that she is today. Everyone has ups and downs, but the majority of us don’t live our life in a fishbowl.....so the world doesn’t know our struggles. Thank you Jessica for sharing your beautiful memoir!

I cried every chapter. The vulnerability and honesty was so attractive

Genuine, (mostly ) relatable, raw and yet light-hearted. It was great to listen to Jessica narrating the book herself too.
Very brave to open and share her story in the way she has, and hopefully it continues to keep the conversations around body shaming, purity culture and abuse going.

I’ve never gotten into Jessica’s music, I’m more into rock and folk, but she’s very talented as a musician.

I was a fan of her show back in the day and always felt they played her up to be that typical stereotype of a blonde but knew she was so much more.

Little did I know how far off that show portrayed her or the struggles she went through during that show and her whole life.

She does open a lot her and while any story does hold back all the details there is a lot of heart opening within this book and as a very casual fan I can highly recommend this audiobook.

Loved this book. Her life was so interesting and her success didn’t come easy. Sad how the media was and still is obsessed with her body!

A beautiful story by an inspiring woman. I enjoyed listening to Jessica's life journey and have become a firm fan of hers. Wonderful songs to accompany the audio-book. One of the best things about being in your 30s is truly discovering who you are. I think it's wonderful she found the courage to work through trauma and learn how to connect with and love herself. I can relate as I have also been on this journey. I highly recommend this book, even if you've never been a fan of hers this is a true gem and worth reading or listening to

Just finished this in one day. It was so beautifully written I couldn’t stop. I cried and laughed along side Jessica. She has definitely changed the way I listen to her music in such a positive way. A must read

This book challenged me in unexpected places. She leaves nothing out, is honest and raw. Such a great read, maybe my favorite of 2020.

Absolutely loved this! Never knew that much about Jessica’s life and I found myself empathizing with her on multiple levels of her journey thus far. This memoir has helped me to tap back into recognizing the need to give myself grace and acceptance for mistakes and things I have dealt with in my own past and even current state, prayer and self-recognition wise. Thank you Jess! I can only hope to meet you in person one day to tell you in person just how much this book has meant to me. I thought it would be a fun and lighthearted read, which it was! However, I’m so glad she opened up about her struggles and emotions. I was hanging on to every word. Thank you!

Truly an amazing memoir, it is worth listening to. I also loved the songs she included at the end.

I wasn't particularly a fan of Jessica Simpson at the height of her fame, I was probably a little too young and not being from the US she wasn't really on my radar. Based on recent interviews I thought it would be an interesting listen nonetheless and it was. Jessica is an incredible narrator and has quite the story to tell. One of the best audio-books I've ever listened to - highly recommend.

I haven’t followed Jessica for many years but I read reviews and wanted to give the book a go. I’m not a reader either so by listening to Jessica’s voice on audio book it made it so much more personal and intimate.

She was so brave to write this book! I can’t imagine what it would take to let the whole world in to know your deepest and darkest secrets. She should be very proud of herself!

Not what I expected! Way better!! Too much churchy stuff but once you get over that... talk about an intense live. She’s a motivator and her songs at the end are beautiful!

As a history major, I’ve read/listened to my fair share of biographies, autobiographies, what have you. Nothing comes close to how much I enjoyed this. Now excuse me, Chapter 1 is about to start again.

This is a great book and I especially loved that she narrated it! ?

This book was like spending time with an old friend. Her narration was pleasant and conversational. The story was so very interesting and inspiring. I am a mom about her same age and remember watching her grow up and become famous during my formative years. This book is a wonderful, honest, and poignant glimpse behind the scenes. Also I'm a librarian and this is truly the first audiobook I've ever read/listened to. I really enjoyed the audiobook format much more than I expected to!
