About this audiobook
From the author of the New York Times and international bestseller Unfu*k Yourself Gary John Bishop presents a no-holds-barred guide to breaking through our cycles of self-sabotage to get what we want out of life.
In Unfu*k Yourself, Gary John Bishop told us it was time to stop making excuses—to recognize and take responsibility for the negative self-talk holding us back.
In Stop Doing That Sh*t, he builds on that message, teaching us how to stop self-sabotaging behavior. Bishop explains how our destructive cycles come down to the way that we’re wired. He then identifies different types of people and the ways we fu*k ourselves over: We can’t save money. We land in the same type of toxic relationship. We’re stuck in a rut at work. Analyzing why we act the way we do, including what our common grenades are that blow up our lives, Bishop then shows how we can interrupt the cycle and stop self-sabotaging our lives.
Written in the same in your face style as Unfu*k Yourself, Stop Doing that Sh*t will help us get in touch with our psychological machinery so we learn to interrupt negative thoughts and behavior before they start, allowing us to give our attention to something else, and start to find success in the areas we thought we never could.
We can take back our lives. We may have fu*ked up in the past, but Stop Doing That Sh*t will show us how to break the patterns in order to live the lives we yearn to have.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5dude uses waayyy too many stupid similies. I get the appeal of the saying it like it is, and making self help more accessible, but the character he plays is turned to 11, making it hard to take him seriously.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely love the way he presents a problem in a light I have never looked at it before. This book was one of the hardest nonfictions for me to get through. It shoved a lot of my own shit in my face.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A wonderful book to read. Uncovering the shades behind why we behave the way we do, why we are stuck in the cycle of starting and then failing.
Provides three powerful reasons embedded in our subconscious responsible for why we keep sabotaging our self and our progress.
Really a good book that will put you back in shape, while giving better perspective to why we do the things we do. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hands down BEST book to give it to you straight in your face. Do yourself a favor and maybe in addition to buying the book listen to the audible. Usually not a fan of audibles but this one read in his Scottish accent with his 'I'm not going to sugar-coat it for you' attitude will have you sit up and pay attention. Brilliantly written, I laughed at the the truthful descriptions of the facade we envelope ourselves in whilst thinking he must have a hidden camera on my life.

If not, highly recommend not reading this book if like your “get your life unstuck” assistance served with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s - stick with binge watching Netflix it that’s the case. You want a real foot up the @$$, well press play, take notes and, prepare to dive deep into the depths of self to pull you out said depths. Cheers!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a life changing experience in a book. A great piece of work!
