About this audiobook

A lethal virus is awoken on an abandoned spaceship in this incredibly fast-paced, claustrophobic thriller.

They thought the ship would be their salvation.

Zahra knew every detail of the plan. House of Wisdom, a massive exploration vessel, had been abandoned by the government of Earth a decade earlier, when a deadly virus broke out and killed everyone on board in a matter of hours. But now it could belong to her people if they were bold enough to take it. All they needed to do was kidnap Jaswinder Bhattacharya—the sole survivor of the tragedy, and the last person whose genetic signature would allow entry to the spaceship.

But what Zahra and her crew could not know was what waited for them on the ship—a terrifying secret buried by the government. A threat to all of humanity that lay sleeping alongside the orbiting dead.

And then they woke it up.

This was very suspenseful and quite creepy. A ghost ship in space in which everyone was killed by some unknown pathogen? Yes, please! The story went in a bit of a different direction than I was expecting but in a good way. I ended up really liking both of the main characters and appreciated seeing their differing perspectives of the same events. I don't want to reveal anything more and spoil it so I'll just say that they both felt justified in their actions and humans are often just as scary as any virus or disease. What I thought was the ending was a bit of a tear-jearker but then it continued for another hour which was kind of unnecessary. I would have been pleased if it ended right after the climactic event but I guess it was nice to know who survived. The narration was excellent. It's a story that lends itself well to audio. I think listening made it even spookier.
