About this audiobook

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners and the “delectable, moving” (Entertainment Weekly) My Favorite Half-Night Stand comes a modern love story about what happens when your first love reenters your life when you least expect it…

Sam Brandis was Tate Jones’s first: Her first love. Her first everything. Including her first heartbreak.

During a whirlwind two-week vacation abroad, Sam and Tate fell for each other in only the way that first loves do: sharing all of their hopes, dreams, and deepest secrets along the way. Sam was the first, and only, person that Tate—the long-lost daughter of one of the world’s biggest film stars—ever revealed her identity to. So when it became clear her trust was misplaced, her world shattered for good.

Fourteen years later, Tate, now an up-and-coming actress, only thinks about her first love every once in a blue moon. When she steps onto the set of her first big break, he’s the last person she expects to see. Yet here Sam is, the same charming, confident man she knew, but even more alluring than she remembered. Forced to confront the man who betrayed her, Tate must ask herself if it’s possible to do the wrong thing for the right reason… and whether “once in a lifetime” can come around twice.

With Christina Lauren’s signature “beautifully written and remarkably compelling” (Sarah J. Maas, New York Times bestselling author) prose and perfect for fans of Emily Giffin and Jennifer Weiner, Twice in a Blue Moon is an unforgettable and moving novel of young love and second chances.

I really can’t stand this narrator. She always makes the main male character sound sleezy.

The story was alright, but the narration was awful. I feel like if I had read the book instead of listened, I would have enjoyed it more. The narrator used a ridiculous amount of vocal fry for all the characters and held out words really strangely. I honestly wish I’d stopped listening after the first chapter, but I kept hoping it would get better.

My recommendation: don’t listen to the audiobook, read the actual book of the story sounds interesting to you.

The story was great, unfortunately the narration of the book wasn’t and I almost gave up listening it.

I liked the storyline, although it was hard to connect with the male character. It would probably be a great read, but the narrator of this audiobook has a super irritating vocal fry that was really distracting and made it hard to get through.

The story is really really something. And I do agree with one of he comments that it seemed a bit hurried. But I guess all in all in was nice. But the ending.. no epilogue.. sorry .. I’m an epilogue lover. Gives me a sense of true happy ending ❤️❤️
    But recommend though ❤️❤️

Not my favorite Christina Lauren love story but 4 stars nonetheless. Kind of ended abruptly but I was mostly satisfied!

First book I read from CL was Love and other words and I loved it! So I had high expectations... but, no, this book wasn't good. Good start, nice idea, but I could barely finish it. So, my grade is only two stars!

No. Just no. This book started off alright, nothing fantastic but just passable for a book to listen to while doing chores. Then the authors had to veer off into cringe-worthy, offensive white saviour complex. I’m sick of simplistic little authors thinking they’re changing the world with their lame little cliches. Just stick to romance you fools.

This novel is marketed as a contemporary romance, but given the fact that the heroine's romantic interest is only onstage with her about 35% of the book, it seems more like chick lit to me personally. The vast majority of the book is spent on the daily events involved in making a motion picture for which the romantic interest is the screenwriter and the heroine is the star. Not particularly interesting stuff.

I struggled at first with this book, but it gets better half way through. I read the actual book when I can, but I listen to the audiobook at work. I think it was hard for me to get into it because the narrator really drags out her words and makes it cringe-worthy. But other than that, another great book.

Daddy issues, daddy issues everywhere. From start to finish, the main girl lets the male leads treat her awfully, all with a smile on her face and begging for more. No matter what the reasoning behind it, if someone does something horrible to you, it’s still horrible!! To just be like ‘oh well, he had good intentions, I’ll forgive him’ is complete and utter crap!! To see someone written with such a like of self esteem and spine to stick up for herself is truly sad. Especially so during the height of the #metoo movement. The only ending should have been her cutting ALL of them out of her life and moving on to find some self esteem.

I can‘t listen to this. The narrator has an awful voice, just as so many listeners pointed out already. She drags out the end of the words, it sounds so unnatural and strange, I kept focusing on it and had to stop listening. Maybe I‘ll read the book at some point.

I’m 7 minutes in, and already…what is happenings with the narrator?! She draws out the *last* sound of EVERY SENTENCE in such a strange unnatural way. Almost like she adds an extra syllable, for flair. So distracting! I never know whether to let the narrator affect my review of a book, but dang. I

I enjoyed the story very much, but I unfortunately did not like something about the person that read the book. Maybe it was how words were drawn out. Not a fan of that.

I haven't read a book with such a weak female character ever! I went through the whole book hoping there would be some redemption... that at some point Tate will be less needy and weak... aaaarrgghh... she has zero personality other than her intense need to people please...

Worse father ever. Also I understand why Sam did it but I feel as though he could have given her a warning, maybe even asked for permission. Overall interesting book.

so good!! I’ve been binge-reading Christina Lauren books (unhoneymooners, in a holidaze, the honey-don’t list, and now twice in a blue moon) and each story is better than the last!! this one is different and I loved it. Great characters, plot, and amazing writing. Can’t wait to read their next one!! Also the audio book narrator is awesome, loved them so much.
