About this audiobook

Bearing His Sin

Cole should have killed Anja the moment he realized she was his mate. Instead, he let her live and now they're on the hunt, chasing the morons who think they can force her to marry another man. Like hell. And while this shapeshifting bear might have his share of sins, he's not going to let little things like murder and mayhem prevent him from having the woman meant to be the keeper of his heart.

Bought by the Bear

Josilyn Martinez just needed the money to help raise her nephew. That's it. There's no other reason she would take a job posing as a shifter's mate so he can assure his grandmother he's settled down. There's no reason to stay at his place so they learn "more about each other." And there's definitely no good reason she should get involved with the hard, hot, and handsome shifter that's hired her.

The Alpha and I

When bar owner Devon Kincaid finds a bleeding man-a hot, hard, handsome, naked bleeding man-in the snow one night, she brings him home to care for him. He's definitely not like any man she's ever met before, but what she doesn't realize is that he's not just a man . . .

In the third story, the main characters abandon their dog in an unheated house, and never come back to him. Seriously. It's a little more than halfway through the story, and the dog is NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. I would have prefered they took the dog with them on their cross-country blizzard hike and he died of exposure/bear attack than just end the story with no mention of him at all, leaving me to believe he starves or freezes alone. (I mean, he isn't explicitly not-rescued, maybe they came home and picked him up before the epilogue started, but I am unhappy about this.)

A dog is for life, not for 10 chapters!!

I got a free copy from the publisher so that I could review it. I couldn't decide between a 4 or 5 star.

Bearing His Sins by Eve Langlais 4 Star
Eve Langlais has written a sexy and totally comical romance. Which after looking at her website some post reading this anthology, that is sort of her style. I like it. Cole is bear shifter and an assassin who is scouting out a hit that he was going to do but was recently cancelled. While he is there in a tree looking through some binoculars and that's when Anja appears below him with a shotgun. A shotgun ready to shoot and an attitude of a total badass. Anja and her grandmother live together on the land he is using to spy. They've been fighting and hiding bodies defending Anja from her fiancé for years. There are parts where Cole was making dirty jokes towards Anja and the whole time her grandmother is there trying to marry her off to him. It is so hilarious. Like dirty jokes that a drunk frat boy would say. My husband and I use stupid dirty jokes all the time like "I need more filling for my pie" and he would say "I got some filling for you." So for me I loved that. I love the banter between them. Cole reminds of Deadpool sometimes with just some of the things that he says. For example, he is talking about them getting busy in a very HOT was against a tree, and then next breathe saying he should really kill her. I really liked the ending it went well with their banter. It did feel a little jumped into pretty quickly, but what do you want it's a novella

I flew through this book. Like I stayed up till midnight after reading non stop after the kids went to bed. This is written out like it really should have been a full novel and was trimmed down to fit in this anthology. Josilyn has been living life like a single mom and raising her nephew Nick since his parents died in a hit and run car accident. She also has been barely scraping by since her husband divorced her and took everything he possibly could, including her public image so no one will hire her. She has a day job cleaning the rich and rudes houses to she can barely feed them. So her best friend and neighbor gets her a job pretending to be a mate for Xander. He needs a fake mate for a week to convince his grandmother he is actually maturing and not just being a frat boy. They meet and surprise, she is actually his one true mate. The story has a lot going for it. She has her own drama unfolding where people keep trying to kidnap her. And meanwhile she has the hots for this bear shifter she is now living with.

The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter
Devon has moved out to no where. She lives in a cabin and owns a bar for the town. The town has like 70 people in it. She was driving home in a blizzard one night and ends of meeting the most amazing man in the world. The man she picks up on the side of the road is naked and covered in blood. He is werewolf. Don't judge this by the short basic snippet though. I know the random chance meeting, love at first site might be so repetitive you might not be in the mood for it today. However, I really recommend that you give this third part of the anthology a shot. The thing is, the bond between the characters is true and real. I felt the love they have. You can feel their magnetic pull and complete understanding of each other. The love is real in this one.

Thanks Fur Last NightTrilogy of Shapeshifter NovellasLooking for a fun anthology with furry fellows that find their mates? Look no further ;) BEARING HIS SIN by Eve LanglaisFun read of Greek bear assassin Cole literally falling at the feet of Anja, his fated mate. There are werewolves, a bear hero, the Russian tiger mafia, a wannabe husband trying to kidnap Anja and more but what really grabbed me was the style of writing that made me smile. Anja is no delicate maiden needing a savior and Cole is a man who is rather blunt but endearingly so. This was a bit over the top but in such a delightful way that I couldn’t stop reading once I began.BOUGHT BY THE BEAR by Milly TaidenJosilyn is in a tight financial situation as she takes care of the nephew in her charge. Her friend provides an opportunity to be pretend mat to Xander and she grabs it – she needs the money. Xander realizes at first sniff she is his mate but how to let her know without scaring her away? This story has someone out to do Josilyn in, Xander doing his best to keep her safe, a mother-in-law and ex-husband from H*ll and a HEA for all…I felt this might be part of a series and that I was missing something at times but all in all it was a fun read. THE ALPHA AND I by Kate BaxterRevenge wanted by a bear shifter puts Liam Murphy near death just off the road as Devon Kincaid drives by. Managing to get him home in one piece he wakes to realize his alpha wolf half has determined Devon is the mate they have been waiting centuries for. Keeping Devon safe, defeating the revenge seeker and introducing Liam’s pack are part and parcel of this story that made me want to read more in the series…if there is one. With humor and spice and a bit of nice this was another read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press-Griffin for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars

Thanks Fur Last Night anthology Bearing His Sins by Eve LanglaisA bear shifter assassin and a Russian mob princess make this paranormal romance quite an adventure. Often humorous and sexy, the pace is fast and fun. Meeting a mate can turn your life upside down.Excerpt for writing style:“I’m pretty sure this oak hates me. Which is pretty shortsighted of the tree, given she owned an axe.”Bought by the Bear by Milly TaidenA fake mate for the bear shifter? Nope. Trust the world to throw a curve ball. A lot of hot and heavy sex along with f**king, both in dialog and deed. That’s the mating instinct. With a change in perspective, the author takes a couple of steps backwards in time. While it makes sense to cover what happened with each in that timeframe, it temporarily pushed me into confusion until I readjusted. Bottom line steamy and campy and brazen. The Alpha and I By Kate BaxterA naked werewolf can’t hide anything from his mate. But now the danger is stalking closer and he will do everything in his power to protect her.A bit more tension along with suspense in this one. And an alpha that puts himself in harms way. Stupidly in my opinion. But that’s what made it suspenseful.
