Описание

Finally home in Kent after her recent adventures in Yorkshire and Cornwall, Lady Anne Addison is shocked to spy her erstwhile suitor, the Marquess of Darkefell, skulking around the gypsy camps near her property. Outraged that he has followed her there, she writes a scathing letter to him and his family, which brings Darkefell — and his denials that it was he — to Kent.

Despite Darkefell's arrival, Anne is preoccupied with the troubles that plague her family and loved ones. Is it the old gypsy woman's curse that is making her friends ill, or something far more sinister? One by one, Anne and Darkefell must unravel the troubling mysteries, and then travel back to Yorkshire, where their love story began, to finally solve the murder that threatens the very heart of his family . . .

I really enjoyed this final chapter in the Lady Anne Addison Mysteries series. I would recommend reading this series in order since the events of the previous books do play a part in this story. I was pretty excited to see how things would work out for both Lady Anne and Darkefell and was eager to see them solve another mystery. I am so glad that I decided to give this series a try.Lady Anne has returned home to Kent after her previous adventures. There is a gypsy camp on her family's land and Lady Anne spies a man that looks just like Darkefell while visiting. She decides to send a letter to Darkefell and his family about what she has seen. Meanwhile, there are a few problems involving that she has to start dealing with including a mysterious illness and a gypsy curse. I enjoyed seeing Lady Anne and Darkefell work together once again. They do sometimes disagree but I have appreciated watching them work things out. They have wonderful chemistry and really do make a great pair. I liked the fact that they were able to work through some of the obstacles to a relationship that they have had over the course of this series.Danielle Cohen did a fantastic job with this book as she has with the entire series. I thought that she added a lot of excitement and emotion to the story through her narration I thought that she handled all of the different character voices very well. She has a very pleasant voice that I found easy to listen to for hours at a time. I believe that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of this story.I would recommend this series to others. I had a great time with all three books in this series. I enjoyed the mysteries in each book and the development of the character relationships throughout the course of the series. I was really satisfied with how everything was resolved in this book. I would definitely read more of this author's work in the future.I received a review copy of this audiobook from the narrator.

A new mystery with links to the past! On her return to Kent from her time in Yorkshire and Cornwall, Anne is dismayed to catch a glimpse of her determined suitor, Anthony, the Marquess of Darkefell, in a gypsy camp on her family property.Suitably cross Anne pens a letter to the Marquess and his family. A letter that brings them all to Kent.Again mysteries beget mysteries and death stalks them all. Gypsy curses, stolen property and mob mentalities play a part.Anne and Darkefell come to the heart of the past as it intrudes on the present to a shocking conclusion.Anne continues to struggle with her anxities about marriage and the loss of independence. The outcome is littered with misunderstandings and dark deeds and a return to the original scene of troubles--Yorkshire!A fitting, yet complex closure! This tale was originally published by Donna Lea Simpson. It has been updated and republished under Simpson's pseudonym, Victoria Hamilton.A Beyond the Page Publications ARC via NetGalley
