      I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this book. It's dark and so messed up. It ends in a cliffhanger and I'm left so confused. I loved main male characters, especially Damien, but I didn't really like Eden. The narrators were okay.

      Wow! Slow clap for this author. Normally just give a star review, but this one deserves a comment. It was hot, intense, and so effin twisted. For once i did not see any of those plot twists coming. Blindsided everytime. I'm about to start book 2, and no doubt hate myself when i have to get up for work in a few hours. Worth it though.

      This was NOT a romance like I was expecting though there was a lot Of hot sex. This book features messed up kids as well as messed up adults. A lot of anger and revenge fueled activities. I don’t think I can stomach book 2

      This was twisted and dark! It is an erotic thriller, that will keep you wondering who is the real “devil” in the story. It has MF, MM, MFM/poly scenes.

      This book was quite the surprise. I love Ashley Jade: The Words and The Choice both made it in my top reads the years they were published. She has a way with writing about the human condition, the angst , and the twisted side of our world that somehow love blossoms through in spite of the hardship and wrong turns it takes to get there.

      This book was dark , twisted and is better than either of those combined . It starts with Cain Carter and his political aspirations, the not so innocent affection he has for his step daughter who becomes juat a pawn in this story. An unsuspecting innocent in a game of cat and mouse between Cain and his nemesis Damian King. When she starts a secret relationship with who she thinks is her stepfather on a dating app, it isnt her stepfather pulling the strings behind the curtain. It turns out to be Damian, but she doesn't know this. She is just a sweet pawn that becomes part of his plan of retribution. But he is strengthening her just the same:

      “Because there are two types of people in this world. Those who are capable of greatness, but don’t bother trying. And those who still try even though they’re not capable of greatness.” Her face screws up. “I do—” “You’re neither.” I wipe her tears away with my thumbs.  “You’re the type of girl who can do anything she sets her mind to and succeed.”


      Much of this book was what happened between Damian and Cain. It is hard to determine who is a bigger sociopath. They are both sharks under the masks of men of powerful "good" men. The story goes back to high school, and the plot twists become more than the reader ever anticipated. Who will have the final word in this ? It is hard to say.

      Teddy Hamilton's narration had me entranced. At the end of the book reading as Damian and Cain you wish he had just narrated the whole book. And book besties when book one ends on a cliffhanger as wide as the Grand Canyon, buckle up and be ready to go on to book two.

      This is a REALLY GOOD book. A great listen if you are like me and love dark romance novels and LOVE Teddy Hamilton as a narrator. This book is just what I didn’t know I was looking for one with excitement, steamy, passion, betrayal and a plan for revenge. It actually has a few twist in terms I didn’t see coming. If books with MM are a hard limit then I’m sorry for your loss because this book is not for you

      I have to admit I got about a quarter way through this book and decided it just wasn’t for me. This book is about a young sexy “ centerfold” 17-year-old, who is just about to turn 18 and lusts after men her fathers age, which seems a little bit more like a male fantasy to me. She has the hots for her stepfather and hooks up with him a bit after her mother passes away. This has a similar theme to some taboo books that came before it, but it just hit me wrong and grossed me out a bit. This book made me realize that if there’s too much objectification, and not enough common ground based on human connection, it’s a turn off. It does have another male that comes off as a disconnected, big ego predator, who gets introduced to us (off the Internet ) in a scene where he talks, extremely nasty, rude, and sexually crude to a woman reporter that he doesn’t seem to know well at all. I just wasn’t down with the vibe. It just felt pretty sexual exploitation/sexual abuse-ish and messed up low vibration to me but I’m sure there’s an audience for this.

      This was deep and so very dirty. The spice didn't take away from the insane plot. There is so much going on without being confusing. The characters are all unlikeable, but in a good way. Everyone is very messed up. There is love, sex, betrayal, and so, so much revenge going on. There are twists and turns that keep you on your toes. I am hooked and cannot wait to read the next book.

      OMG! This book was amazeballs! It went in a direction I wasn't even expecting and kept surprising me. TBH I don't remember the last time i was so intrigued. I only hope the author doesn't seek to redeem Cain. In my opinion Cain is irredeemable. He is evil incarnate. I will not say more lest I spoil for other readers. The girl Eden though? She is as naive as they come. Although she is only 18 she has had a terrible experience with a man in the past, surely you would think that would disillusion her make her wiser and more careful but alas she keeps repeating the same mistakes what a shame? I can't wait to see what happens next. I definitely recommend this story!

      Great story line, with sarcastic humor, morally grey characters, amazing plot twist and cliffhanger.
      The narrators did a great job. Cain's narrator's voice was a bit high for a man but I think it was on point with the character.
