- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a wonderful tale from beginning to end. It tells the story of four generations of women living in Cornwall beginning at the start of WWI and ending in the present day. Daughters of Cornwall is the first book I have read by Fern Britton and it certainly won’t be my last. It’s beautifully written with a fantastic cast of charming, likeable characters and strong female leads. It’s such a heartwarming and uplifting tale, just right for these unprecedented and surreal times. It easily transported me to a stunning landscape and different eras in time. Just captivating and a delight to read. Thanks, Pigeonhole, for the opportunity to read this engaging, evocative and enthralling story. Looking forward to reading more of Fern Britton’s work.
