About this audiobook
Jenny believe that women who fall in love at first sight often wish they'd taken a second look, so she diligently begins to follow all the rules set forth in her handy manual on how to land a husband.
But while Jenny is interviewing the less-than-promising candidates, her sisters are falling in love the old-fashioned way-with men of their choosing. And the longer Jenny stays, the more her sense of control slips away. The town isn't living up to her expectations, her sisters are rebelling against her practical choices, and soon her own heart starts to betray her, as US Marshal Rhett Armstrong stirs emotions in her that weren't part of her plan.
To relinquish her control to God and calm her restless spirit, she'll need to give her foregone conclusions about marriage, love, and faith.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was book two in the Rocky Creek Romance Series. I had previously read book #1 and book #3. I am a big believer in reading a series in the order they were written in so you get to know and understand all the characters within the series. You can however read these books in any order and still enjoy them. This story was about Jenny Higgins and her two sisters who arrive in Rocky Creek having read that it had the highest number of eligible bachelors. Jenny is looking for husbands for her two sisters that she has had to raise and she is going by the book, "The Complete and Authoritative Manual for Attracking and Procuring a Husband" book. She has her two sisters to contend with, who don't exactly like the method Jenny is using, the townsfolk who are on edge by her tactics and the town's US Marshal Rhett Armstrong, who is having a hard time keeping the peace in town now that they have arrived and in keeping his heart from falling in love with the headstrong and opiniated young lady, Jenny. This was a fun and enjoyable story. It is lighthearted for the most part, but does deal with characters who have flaws and problems to work through. I think the whole series is well worth the time and enjoyment you will experience having read them.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The romantic theme in this thread was truly delightful. There was enough tension to make the romance(s) sizzle, but at the same time their behavior fit the time period. The sneaking out was hilarious as were those "prove to me you don't feel anything for me" kisses. I had a hard time putting this story down and I am sure romance lovers will feel the same way. The dialog was snappy and cute, but also filled with wisdom. And I loved the etiquette lead-ins to each chapter. In short, this novel was an entertaining read, but with substance. Well done.
