Not my favorite Harper Bliss romance. I really liked the character Tess. Laura, however, seemed not quite as engaging. The narrator, Charlotte North, did a nice job. The characters were distinct from one another, and dialogue was easy to follow. Ms North’s Texas accent seemed natural.

A beautiful story written with such sensitivity to all the characters. Having read the book first which I already loved. I actually feel I've gotten a deeper appreciation for the story.
And not to forget some very hot scenes with wonderful emotion.
I also enjoyed the voice of the narrator which isn't unimportant with an audiobook.

“are you going to put all your shit on me or start to visit specialist? “
So, in this book she declines doctors or shrink help!
Just angry, after finishing this book! especially cuz Harper Bliss, is one of my favorite authors((((

A deeply moving novel capturing the arduous path to recovery from spousal violence, an issue that among lesbians too often gets little attention. Harper Bliss, whose romantic and often delightfully scorching tales of women loving women (the Pink Bean series, for example), has more to say in this book. She sensitively probes how cruel rejection of the identities of queer young people by their families can condition them to later accept abuse from outwardly “loving” partners. The difficult themes are addressed with Harperesque humor, strong women characters, and, of course, love ultimately conquers all. The Audible version is enhanced by artfully rendered Texan accents by the outstanding narrator.
