About this audiobook

The Enchiridion or Manual of Epictetus is a short manual of Stoic ethical advice from the 2nd-century Greek Stoic philosopher Epictetus. The focus is on applying philosophy in daily life. The primary theme is that one should accept what happens. The Enchiridion, along with the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius and Seneca's Letters from a Stoic, is one of three key texts from which the modern world knows Stoicism.

Epictetus

Epictetus (circa 55-135 ce) taught in Rome until the year 94 ce, when Emperor Domitian banished philosophers from the city. In exile, he established a school of philosophy where his distinguished students included Marcus Aurelius, author of Meditations. Some 1,863 years after Epictetus's death, Tom Wolfe revived his philosophy in the bestselling novel A Man in Full.

Who and what the heck is: “Epic—too —tose?” That was so annoying to listen to in the intro...what a meme…

Fabulous reading, but Epictetus is pronounced as “Eh-pick-tee-tuus,” not “Eh-pick-too-tose.”

Nice writings! Great lessons! However, I would like to emphasised that I gave a 5 star for the writings and not for the narration, the narrator, it seems to me is in a tight space that he cannot wait to finish his narration
