About this audiobook

A modern mafia fairytale.

Born into one of the leading mob families in Chicago, Aria Scuderi is a mafia princess known for her beauty. What many consider a gift means her doom when she’s forced to marry Luca Vitiello to bring peace between two mafia dynasties. Luca is the future Capo of the New York Famiglia, a man known for his brutality—and for crushing his cousin’s throat with his bare hands.

Aria is terrified of marrying a monster like him. He may be one of the most sought-after bachelors in New York, thanks to his good looks, wealth and predator-like charisma. But Aria knows the bad boy aura isn’t just a game; blood and death lurk beneath Luca’s striking gray eyes and arrogant smile.

In her world a handsome exterior often hides the monster within; a monster who can just as easily kill as kiss you.

Yet, there’s no escaping the arranged bond, much less a man like Luca. He’d follow her to the end of the world.

Her only chance to survive in a marriage with Luca is to gain his affection and work her way into his heart—even when rumor has it that Luca doesn’t have a heart to begin with.

A mafia princess known for her beauty given to a monstrous man.

Even monsters have a heart.

She has every intention of working her way into his.

The book was good. My issue is that the audiobook seemed to skip and entire chapter so I had to scramble to find the ebook to fill in the gaps. I stopped listening to audiobook at that point and just read it for cohesiveness.

FMC is incredibly annoying and as unlikable as you can get. Don't get me started on her sister. I think the narration makes her worse by sounding soooo dramatic. Yuck. I recommend you skip it.

If you're wanting to read mafia romance, Cora is the OG author to read/listen to. Every book of hers is incredibly detailed and well thought out with character development and intense plotlines. Steamy hot hot romance with bad men that you equally love and hate.

this is the begining of one of the best series out there, Cora is truly amazing and sucks you in this Mafia world. This is Arias side of the story, then go to Luca Vitielle to get his side. After this each book is Duel POV and about a different couple. With the amazing story line and the great selection of Narrators each book is brought to life and well worth the listen. Great Job Author!!

This is my first book by this author. All-in-all the book was ok, but it just kind of felt like a typical arranged marriage trope except the bride is super fearful of her soon-to-be husband and it has a mafia backdrop sprinkled throughout. I'm not sure why a lot of romance authors love to make the female main characters virgins and the men super experienced. This was another one of those. That being said, in my opinion the author focused way too much on the woman's inexperience and pain during intimacy to the point that I wondered if the author remembered what it was like for the first time, because it's not the level of torture described for most people I know. It made things super awkward to read about and not steamy at all. This seemed to be a focus for not 1, but 3 different sexual interactions throughout the book. I also just didn't feel like the author built great connection or chemistry between the 2 main characters. I'm tempted not to go on to the second book.

I can not get enough of her books. You really get to know what each character feels at the time of an event. So u get both sides of the story! Also the erotic nature is actually intriguing to listen to!

Not bad, but nothing special. Narration was pretty good. Too long.

This book was so-so and mostly boring. The entire plot of the book is about him taking her virginity. It’s very drawn out with no actual plot or deep character development.

I like the story and I love that I was able to listen to both sides of the story’s beginning. That being said, the female narrator of this book, Samantha Peachwood, should have listened to “Luca Vitiello” read by Sebastian York before recording. She pronounces names very differently and it is VERY distracting since I’ve already known these characters with names that now sound like different ones. Not sure I’ll continue to listen the rest of the series or not.

I have to say that I really liked Luca and felt that Aria was a spoilt brat up until 90% when she came into her own. I got sick to death of her being scared of him 'taking her'. It droned on and on and was too boring for words and so unrealistic! As for Giana, perhaps Matteo will knock some sense into her! I did like the last 10% a lot!

I am a massive mafia romance fan and I loved the dark side of their story, unfortunately, it wasn't my favourite by far.

There were definitely some great tropes involved and I'm a sucker for an age gap, arrange marriage and "you touch her, you die" trope. I thought I'd fall head over heels and miss any flaws.

Aria was a very nieve heroine and I understand she's been sheltered but she's also been brought up in a world of violence so I really expected her to have more of a backbone. At least be more strong-headed since she has had to look after her siblings and be a role model. Luca was a great alpha, mafia leader but I needed more context whenever he came barging into a room and jumping the gun. I wanted more for their journey together. I will say the side characters really interest me and I am so ready for their stories.

This girl is such a pride it borders to the point it's unrealistic and irritating you would think he's trying to sleep with a 10 year old she is annoying by her age she would have instincts that would push her naturally and the author doesn't understand female anatomy and doesn't know where the hymen is

Love love love Aria and Luca. Grateful I could listen to the book without yelling how much of an idiot the main character was. This was a refreshing change

A classic mafia tale: an arranged marriage, a pure wife, a guarded husband.

The relationship takes forefront here as we only have the female POV. The mafia dealings are mentioned from time to time. I loved all the drama and action at the end and I wish we could've get more of that throughout the book. It also sets up the 3rd couple in the series nicely.

Great book. Don’t really like audiobooks because I prefer to read. But this book got me hooked and I got through it in a day.

This book had a good story line and interesting theme. I was enticed to keep reading! However some of the main plot points felt as though a mountain was made from a mole hill.

I believe if there had been more detail into the main theme (Italian mafia) the plot points could have had more depth. With more detail and some grammatical edits this story would be improved greatly.

I really enjoyed it. I didn't read Luca's pov but I will. I'm looking forward to reading more. I would have liked to see Aria or Luca seek revenge on his cousin and ex.

Arranged marriage is one if my favorite tropes. I also love books where characters are in desperate situations. And I like dark mafia romance. This book didn't work for me at all. Aria was 15 for the first few chapters. He didn't touch her at this age but he still controlled her life. And she was so docile. She just accepted everything. She should have listened to her sister and ran away. Even if they caught her and brought her back. She did show some strength towards the end, I'll give her that.

And his main characteristic was "touch her and you die" but not because he liked her, no it was because she was his property. And of course he cheated.

They did end up having feelings for each other but it was so unrealistic. She just kept forgiving him for everything. In my opinion there was zero chemistry between them.

Why did I finish it? Because I was reading it for a book club.

I am curious about her sister's book. She's so much more interesting than Aria.

Loved this book, Arya's view on the story just completes their wonderful love story.
