      I have read several of Rebecca Yarros books at this point and they’ve all been exciting, spicy and intriguing. This was unfortunately none of those things. The storyline feels very cliche and I could not connect with any characters in here. The ending felt like the climax of a subpar Law and Order episode and at that point, I couldn’t care less what happened with any of them. The dynamic of Cam and Willow just felt strange and forced, and the restoration of the mine, then all that followed was terribly obvious. Even the “twists” were apparent miles ahead. Overall, I’m glad I got the audiobook versus reading version because I’d have really struggled to finish this if it was the book. Even was struggling finishing the audiobook.
