    bell hooks was an influential cultural critic, feminist theorist, and writer. Celebrated as one of America’s leading public intellectuals, she was a charismatic speaker and writer who taught and lectured around the world. Previously a professor in the English departments at Yale University and Oberlin College, hooks was the author of more than 17 books, including the New York Times bestseller All About Love: New Visions; Salvation: Black People and Love; Communion: the Female Search for Love, as well as the landmark memoir  Bone Black: Memories of Girlhood.

      Everyone needs to read this. Please! It should be essential reading for everyone to get an idea of what it should look like for everyone to be equal.

      A must need to read. This is my second read of a bell hooks’ book and I enjoy her insightful takes, my mind is always racing (in a good way) after. ✨

      A must read for any left minded person! A great overview of the usefulness of feminism for all people, and the failures of historical messaging and good ideas to address and rectify them

      More of the same from a "two-faced" ideology claiming the goal of "love for all" whilst simultaneously practicing that of "divide and blame"
      An ideology so "inclusive" that's its very name discounts 50% of the population.

      While perhaps slightly dated in that it only discusses the gender binary, this book remains incredibly relevant and important. I highly recommending reading it or listening.
