About this audiobook
Tessa’s life as a college student and grocery clerk at Publix is hard and mind-numbingly boring all at once. Living in the small home she shares with her disabled dad isn’t making it any easier for her to live a life of her own, either. Tessa knows it’s time for her to get out into the world, but between school, work, and caring for a sick parent, she can’t seem to find time for fun or friends, let alone a boyfriend.
Jeremy is the new guy at work, always cracking jokes and trying to make Tessa smile. He’s funny and charming, but he uses his jovial personality to cover up a dark secret. The truth is that Jeremy isn’t working as a bag boy to pay the bills; in fact, he’ll never have to worry about paying for a thing in his life. As the son of Publix CEO Ramona Gleeson, it’s Jeremy’s job to infiltrate the business at the employee level and report back to the board of directors in the name of saving the company.
When Tessa and Jeremy strike up an unlikely friendship on the job, she uncovers his secret and has a hard time coming to grips with who he really is. Tessa’s disdain for the wealthy almost drives a wedge between them, and their friendship threatens to dissolve over a matter as cold and hard as cash. With Tessa’s help, Jeremy soon realizes that their fellow Publix workers are overworked and underpaid and makes it his new mission to help his CEO mom find a change of heart. In this secret billionaire love story, friends become lovers as Tessa and Jeremy find that the one thing you can’t put a price on is love.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A really cute fast story, Wendy Dalrymple is one of my fave novella authors ??
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Nice story and instead of love at 1st sight, it was refreshing that they got too know each other 1st.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This author has some of the cutest shorts! I love this one, and I can’t wait to check out her others.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is another short story with an interesting, likable, believable storyline.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a charming short story! I wish there were more chapters following this romantic couple.
And the narrator did a great job… Lastly, just gotta say that although one listener was disturbed over the narrator’s British pronunciation of the automobile brand, “Jaguar,” perhaps she believed it proper to use that version as it is a Brit make. Either way, no biggie. I say chill, just be happy and enjoy the story(: - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Lovely Novella. This was light, fluffy and clean. The narration was exceptionally done.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was fun and very sweet. I love how Jere was a rich kid but yet knew how to put himself in others shoes. And it was cute how even though they didn't know much of each other they were constantly looking forward to seeing each other the next day.
Thank you for your hard work?1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was a cute story with instant attraction tempered by a time built relationship. This was a solid 4-5 Star listen for me until the overly contrived ending. The reason for running was a stretch but the long time not seeing each other was the part that really bothered me.
Is it worth the read... Definitely.
Will I read more from the author... Definitely
This is a clean story and fairly detailed for a 2 hour audio book.3 people found this helpful

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Innocent, short. sweet to my ear with the realism of bias. A nice change from the gritty audiobooks I've just completed.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book was cute but the pronunciation of so many words drove me nuts! Jag you are??? Seriously! Where were the editors??
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This audiobook has remained on Scribd since at least 2020, it is 2024. There has to be a reason for this, but I don't know what it is. .
