- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good writing practices and exercises but kind of difficult to get into.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I found this book to be an excellent companion as I prepared for a long, 400-mile hike whosepurpose was to consider 40 years of my adult life and to put me in closer touch with my inner life. There are excellent exercises and plenty of insight in this book. Unfortunately, I was mostly tootired in the evenings after hiking all day to even think about my miserable lot in life. Next time, I'lltry a spiritual retreat to a monastery, where I will have a better chance of putting Metzger's ideasinto practice!
