Описание

Hey, That's Not What the Bible Says! That's what Bill heard back from a group of young children when he shared some sketches he had done for children's church. Those drawings were the basis for this unique and very creative look into some of the Bible's most popular stories including the Garden of Eden, Moses and the burning bush, and Jesus' birth. 10 stories in all are told in cartoonish fashion with a familiar group of kids always popping up to remind us…That's Not What the Bible Says! The complete stories from the Bible are included along with each story as references for families to spend family time reading together.

Об авторе

Jolene Feist is a wife and mother of 3 toddler boys. She is from Minnesota, and has her Master’s in Health and Physical Education from Northern State University in SD. She has thought many times since becoming a mom of writing a book. It was her children and her faith that inspired her to write this book on fear. Jolene had to get to a place in her life where she surrendered her children to the Lord, and it was then that God delivered her from her fears and anxieties as a mother. She wants to help parents in a simple way to raise fearless children for this generation. She believes it’s the parent’s example of a genuine, radical faith that helps their children flourish in life. She has trained her boys to fight fear at a young age by praying scripture over them and teaching them to say, “bye-bye fear, God is here!” Jolene’s parents raised her and her siblings up in the fear of the Lord, and she desires to raise her children the same way. This book will be a simple way of helping parents kick fear out of their children’s lives.

This is a fun, and clever way to review familiar Bible stories with children. The format is the same throughout this book. It starts with a brief page or two, retelling a Bible story and then on the next page there is something stated that is so very obviously incorrect that it gets the child(ren) laughing and encourages them to holler out, "Hey that's not what the Bible says!" This is then followed by a brief explanation of what it really should have said. To carry the truth even further, the last few pages of the book includes each story retold from the Bible, uninterrupted, in more detail. The stories include: Creation, Abraham and Sarah, Joseph and his brothers, Manna in the desert, the Ten Commandments, Gideon, Mary and Baby Jesus, Young Jesus in the Temple, The Lord's Supper and Saul's Conversion.
