Nicholas Fogg is dead and an unexpected afterlife. Most unexpectedly, he finds he is the assistant to Arthur Conan Doyle for a multiple murder investigation.Quirky and varied characters help fill and drive the mystery while explaining the unusual world and atmosphere. This afterlife or afterworld is filled with similar yet altered plants, animals, and people. The narrative and plot are full of lush and vivid descriptions, humor, and a hint of romance.Overall, a entertaining read!
