    When Time Is At Hand

As they drank the wine, they looked at each other in fond friendship grown out of the five years they spent together. One the employer, the other the caregiver who was twenty years younger than the woman she attended to everyday.

At the end of each day, the two women got together in camaraderie drinking the red aged grapes from Swarovski crystal wine glasses. When the thin glass was filled, it tinkled accepting the dark blood brew filled to the brim, from the third bottle that night. Beauty of the soul and class, two of her most cherished requests, the older woman had in her younger companion. Or so she thought.

Short tempered and uneasy herself most of the time, she was aging well. This annoyance of late was a result of frequent headaches assailing her from the heat. This was the best friendship she had in the whole world. The woman treated her like gold and she basked in the kindness shown her by the older lady.

Every once in a while, she lost her temper and screamed but those were rare times getting rarer as they got closer.

When I am gone Gem, I will leave you enough so you would need no one for the rest of your life, said the lady looking over her wine glass at her favorite employee.

Really Evika that's not necessary, said the woman slow now with the wine on her tongue. You have done so much for me already.
