About this ebook

Preface
Karen looked at herself squarely in the bathroom mirror. "What have I done?" she chastised her reflection.

'To go' sex, as her friend Angelika had put it, definitely wasn't her style. But two mojitos and one sangria later and she'd given in to the desire Kamar had awakened in her.

They'd been hanging out and flirting for the last couple of weeks and the alcohol had put to sleep the rational side of her, setting her carefree side loose.

Last night, the relationship had gotten much more personal than she'd ever wanted it to so quickly. But, she couldn't bring herself to feel the guilt she thought she ought to feel. She'd reveled in Kamar's lovemaking – and quite frankly couldn't wait to experience more of it.

"Maybe I'm still in some kind of emotional shock over Jason," she thought.

It had been a tough breakup and even though it had been just over a year, it still affected her if she gave it too much thought.
"You love too hard baby," her mom had said. "That kind of loving ain't good for no one's soul, especially one as sensitive as yours."
And this was why Karen had given herself a break from all things "men" after Jason. She felt raw, exposed and weak. She'd cried in her mother's arms like a newborn baby many nights after Jason left.

Her mother had insisted that she see a therapist when she started losing weight and was unable to sleep.

Slowly, she'd started to put her life back together and rejoin the world of the living. One night, after being dragged by her best friend Angelika to "Salsa Night" at a local club, she'd met Kamar.

The ban on all things "men" was over the minute she laid eyes on him.
****************
After her last relationship ended in heartbreak, Karen had taken a year's sabbatical from dating and reassessed her priorities.
Her professional life was budding, but she was lonely. So she decided to focus on what she could control – her business – and not wait for a committed relationship to blossom before she had some fun.
Meeting Kamar seemed to solidify that she'd made the right decision. They hit it off immediately and she headed straight down the 'bad girl' path, forging a physical connection before thought was given to any type of emotional bond.
Could her bad girl behavior lead to a lasting relationship?
Could the chemistry they shared in bed translate into a successful relationship out of bed?
Or, was she so "Trapped by Desire" that she was setting herself up for heartbreak all over again?

My name is Yuwanda Black and I'm a freelance writer, author and web entrepreneur.I've been a freelance writer since 1993, a self-published ebook writer/author since 2002 and an internet marketer since 2008.TRAVELING FREELANCE WRITERMy primary residence is in the U.S., but I travel frequently to Jamaica (Negril). I visited for the first time in 2009 and started going back on a regular basis. After so many trips (and so many expensive hotels) I thought, "It's cheaper to rent!"So I did.Since 2010, I've rented four places in Negril -- from studios with ocean views to a two-bedroom/two-bath house with a yard and access to an infinity pool (which overlooked the ocean; it was beyond gorgeous!).Now, I have a one-bedroom apartment that is about a 20-minute walk to the beach and 3 minutes to bars and restaurants.Note: See the video attached to my profile here to get an idea of some of the fun stuff there is to do in Jamaica -- and to see how beautiful it is. This one details one of the many trips I've taken to the mineral springs in the Blue Mountains.I have the most amazing massages when I go here ... and talk about natural beauty -- this country is absolutely gorgeous!See more videos of Jamaica on my YouTube channel at "inkwellny."THE THING I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT MY CAREERThe thing I love the most about being a writer is that it allows me to live and work where I please. As long as I have an internet connection, I'm good to go.I've worked everywhere from a hotel room in Barcelona, Spain; to a cafe in Stockholm, Sweden; to a farm house in Cordoba, Argentina. As far as work, I feel like the luckiest girl alive most days.THE THING I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT BEING AN EBOOK WRITER/SELF PUBLISHERIn a phrase, "income stability." As long as I can write (ie, produce new products), I can make a living. How much I earn is entirely up to me. Thanks to places like Smashwords, you don't have to be famous to make a living as a writer.RUNNING, RUNNING, RUNNING!I'm also a marathon runner. I've completed two full and 8 half marathons as of December 2013 (when I completed my third Reggae Marathon in Negril). I'm always training for the next one.LIFE PHILOSOPHYJust do it! It's just sex. Karen said. Will you stop trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill!

I would if you didn't have that humongous smile glued to your mug – which has been there for the last week, her best friend Angelika shot back.

I've never known you to do 'just sex.' Be careful Kare, Angelika said, turning serious as she used Karen's nickname. You don't do 'to-go' sex.' Your heart always gets involved and that's what scares me about this. I don't want to see you hurt again.

    Chapter 1: Regrets?

    . . .

Karen re-entered Kamar's bedroom as quietly as possible so as not to wake him.

Buenos dias senorita, he said to her panty-covered bottom as she leaned over to retrieve her jeans from the bedroom floor.

And just where are you trying to sneak off to?

    Chapter 2: The First Meeting

Dear God why do I let her do this to me? Karen groaned as she watched Angelika seamlessly mesh her body into yet another partner and move sensually to the mambo beat.

Karen didn't know a lick about how to dance salsa and this was the kind of place where you couldn't fake it. People came here to seriously – dance salsa – not simply sway to the beat of the music.

As it was something she'd been wanting to do for years, she pulled out her iPhone, looked up the closest dance studio and decided to sign up for salsa lessons on the spot.

Nobody leaves Baby in the corner! she murmured under her breath, recalling Patrick Swayze's line from the movie Dirty Dancing.

Resigned to the fact that she wouldn't be Baby tonight, Karen grabbed her purse and headed for the bar.

Left out in the cold too, huh? a deep voice from her left side turned her head.

Excuse me, Karen said, looking to see who this melodic baritone belonged to.

I saw you on your phone, so I figured that you were like me, left to your own devices – pun fully intended -- while your friend danced the night away.

Oh goodness, you too! Karen smiled widely in agreement.

He's yummy! she thought to herself.

Continuing, she said, Yeah, but not for long. I looked up dance studios and signed up for salsa lessons. I refuse to attend one more of these things and be left sitting.

You don't waste any time do you. I like that. I'm Kamar by the way. Kamar Cabrera. And you are?

Karen. Karen Brandlyn. Nice to meet you Kamar. I was just on my way to the bar for a drink …

Allow me, please. What can I get for you? Kamar interjected.

    You don't have to …

I want to, Kamar said, cutting her off. Besides, who am I going to sit and talk to if you don't let me sit with you? We seem to be about the only two people here who don't know how to salsa.

Well I guess you have a point there, Karen said. It'll keep me from shooting daggers at my friend every time I manage to catch her eye. At least she can enjoy herself guilt-free – UNTIL I get her in the car.

Kamar gestured for Karen to walk in front of him. For the most part, it was his
