About this ebook
In Hello, Nebulon!, Zack makes the big move from Earth. He is already nervous about starting school and making new friends, but it only gets worse when he dreams that his classmates are slimy aliens with tentacles, pizza comes covered in gross bugs, and he can never communicate with his Earth friends again! Fortunately, when Zack arrives at Sprockets Academy for his first day of school, he meets and befriends Drake Tucker, a Nebulite boy who also loves to explore and learn about the planets. Nebulon isn’t as awful as Zack’s dream, but there are a lot of differences between Nebulon and Earth, and they make Zack miss his home in Dubbsville, Texas, even more. But things start to look up when he receives a mysterious surprise. What could it possibly be?
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Galaxy Zack chapter books are perfect for beginning readers.
Ray O'Ryan
Ray O’Ryan has loved space stories ever since he watched the very first episode of Star Trek. He loves to imagine what traveling across the galaxy might be like and is a bit jealous of Galaxy Zack in this regard.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good book for 3rd & 4th graders or strong 2nd grade readers. First in a series. Zack is on his way with his family to live on Planet Nebulon, but he's worried about missing his friends and he's not sure what awaits him on Nebulon. Turns out, Nebulon is really cool. There's lots of whiz-bang things that kids will wish they had, like a house computer/robot that gives you whatever food you ask for, a flying bike, and elevators in the house that take you wherever you want.

Chapter 1
Blast Off!
Ooh! Look, Zack,
called Shelly Nelson from the front seat of the Nelson family’s space cruiser. She pointed out of the large, round windshield in front of her. It’s Venus! And there’s Mars!
Sitting in the backseat of the cruiser, eight-year-old Zack Nelson sighed. He knew his mom was just trying to cheer him up. But at the moment all he wanted to do was go home—to his real home, Earth. Not his new home on some planet called Nebulon.
diagramZack punched a code into the keypad below his window. The glass in the window changed from dark to clear.
diagramBillions of stars glittered in the inky blackness beyond the window. This was the part of space travel Zack liked best. Sure, he could see tons of stars with his überzoom galactic telescope back on Earth. But being out among the stars and planets, seeing them close up, always made Zack happy.
Except today, February 11, 2120. Moving day.
diagramGlancing out his window, Zack looked past Venus and Mars. He had visited both planets many times. His family had often taken weekend trips to the Low Gravity Amusement Park on Venus. And they had always gone to the beaches at the Red Planet Resort on Mars for spring break.
But today all Zack could see was Earth. The tiny blue and white ball grew smaller and smaller in the window. The Nelsons’ space cruiser zoomed farther away from the only home Zack had ever known.
diagramZack’s dad, Otto, was up front in the pilot’s seat, steering the cruiser. How ya doing back there, Captain?
he called.
Zack smiled. He was
