This short story by Emily Livingstone is told from the vivid and sometimes humorous perspective of its five-year-old protagonist and reveals the impact depression can have on even the youngest member of a family.

Grampy finishes the book and shuts it with a pop and I laugh, like always. Then I slide off of Grampy’s lap and watch him put the book back on one of the shelves.
