I started writing stories as a teenager and continue to spin tales for my children and grandchildren today. I hope to encourage them to see their life and the world around them with eyes of imagination and God’s love.Traveling throughout our county and around the world, I have spoken and taught in schools, libraries and churches. I have visited orphanages, leper colonies, and garbage dump communities. I have taught and worshiped with the persecuted Christians of the under-ground church. These trips not only give me opportunities to meet people, but to experience lifetime adventures. Pulling stories from the strong in spirit from all walks of life, I hope to teach others, young and old, that life is not about circumstances, but what we do with what we have.My writing developed from college through technical instructions and training materials for various manufacturing industries. For several churches and mission teams I have written lessons, devotionals and children’s messages. A collection of stories were compiled into book form and published in 1996. In 2003 two books highlighting experiences in Haiti and Uganda were published. Most recently, the first book in the dragon Bible series was released— fall of 2010. Currently I am working on contracts for the continuation of this series as well as starting another.Over the years I have received several awards for various poems and short stories. I have been commissioned to write “memory books” and conduct workshops to teach children how to write stories. My international travel experience include the countries of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Japan, Viet Nam, Philippines, Korea, London England, Uganda Africa, Mexico and Canada.I have worked with Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Christian Appalachian Project, Fort Wayne Inner City Mission, Global Ministries, Youth for Christ, Calvary International Discovery Missions, Casas Por Cristo, Canaan Christian Camp of Salcedo Dominican Republic, Ebenezer Evangelical Missions & Nehemiah Vision Ministries of Haiti.

The Creator’s Design for Good Health & Healing - Cheri Moser-Coomer

Words in and of themselves don’t teach; it is primarily life experiences that bring understanding. So, I would like to introduce some very real people who have helped me start this journey.

Pulling from history, each chapter begins with a fictional tale of a life experience to help explain a different aspect of herbal medicine and touch on the needs of a body system.

In no way am I writing this book to state I am an expert in the skill of herbal health and healing, but only to record the foundation of my understanding as I begin this journey searching for more wisdom.

While these are fictional tales around historical characters, the intent of this book is two-fold. First, as a reminder that we were created by a compassionate God who created man-kind perfect; and secondly, within the foundation of creation He provided us with a path to return to perfection — physically as well as spiritually.

It is unknown what herbs where discovered when, and it is unlikely many of these mentioned were present or understood in the time and setting of the stories. I ask that these details be overlooked for the sake of the story and the understanding of holistic herbal healing.

It is my desire that these tales open the curious into greater depths of understanding the purpose for which they were created and how to find a healthier life in which to live out that purpose.

I would like to thank Teresa Boardwine for guiding me as I start this journey of understanding Herbal Medicine and Apothecary. Thank you for your patience in guiding this Engineer and Story Teller into both left brain and right brain aspects of holistic herbal healing. You are a beautiful soul.

"The leaves of the Tree of Life were used as medicine to heal the nations."

    Rev. 22:2

    Introduction

Once upon a time, long, long ago, the Lord created the heavens and the earth. … On the third day the Lord said, Land! Bring forth life! And behold, the land began to sprout grass, flowers and trees, each with a seed for continuing life.

Rephael watched as various shades of green spread across the desolate land. Beautiful! he exclaimed as he awaited the results of the Creator’s next words.

Wait for it… the Creator paused when as a crescendo, color burst across the fields adding splashes of reds, yellows and blues of all shades.

Rephael gasped then held his breath as he noticed the hand of the Creator still up as if it was not yet complete. Watching, he noticed dots of bright vibrant yellow pop. First only a few here and there then gradually they spread out across the hills and valleys adding a softness to even the rocks where nothing else grew.

The Creator smiled and proclaimed, It is good.

Rephael watched the light chase the darkness as he pondered a glimpse of sadness he noticed in the Creator’s eyes when He blessed the plant life upon this blue ball. What could the Lord be preparing for? He wondered.

Day four saw the creation of the lights in the skies above the blue ball spinning itself from dark to light.

Day five saw the creation of life within the waters below — fish, whales and dolphins; and in the skies above — birds of every size and color.

Day six brought more life upon the land as sounds of mooing, roaring and screeching from animals of every kind echoed. Antelope bounded, elephants banded, skunks scurried, squirrels scampered, cats lounged and dogs chased. It was a circus of joy with birds swooping down from above and butterflies fluttering amongst it all.

Then Rephael watch the Creator do the most curious thing. He stooped to the clay earth and began to knead it, mold it, and sculpt it. Just when it looked like He was done, He bent down and kissed it… no… He breathed into it.

Whispers silenced when the Lord stepped back and joined the angels as they watched the creature stir. It stood and shook himself free from the earth. The Lord smiled as they watched it wander across the land filled with fresh life. He quickly stooped to the clay again to mold, sculpt and breathe life into another creature similar to the first.

The angels watched their Creator spent the rest of the day and the next with these creatures with unusual likeness to their Lord.

Sometime later, Rephael caught a private moment with the Lord and asked My Lord and Creator, I could not help but noticed that when You finished creating the plant life back on the third day of creation, there was a sadness in Your voice of proclamation of its goodness. If it was so good, why were You sad?

Again that look of sadness crossed the eyes of the Creator. Have you figured out why I have created? He asked this inquisitive angel.

Rephael looked to the blue ball and guessed Based on the joy upon Your face when You return from time spent with the creatures You named Adam and Eve, I would assume You designed everything so that You could have another—similar to Yourself—to be with?

That is correct! The Lord was pleased, and then paused before He continued. I designed them to choose and I know that as time goes by, it will not always be Me they choose. As Lucifer develops his cunning skills of deception, my beloved will discover pain and suffering.

Again the Lord sighed sorrowfully as He looked into the future. I have provided a way of healing, if they remember Me and return to Me. The creation of plant life on the third day holds a piece of that plan.

He turned back to this angel whose curiosity shifted to compassion. I made a plan of recovery for their souls and a plan of healing for their bodies. I will need your help.

What can I do? he asked.

The Lord smiled at this angel named He-Whom-God-Has-Healed. This is part of the secret I planned within the foundations of creation. He then began to list each tree, fruit, shrub, berry, flower and herb and its property to heal, when suddenly, He cried out I have to go! as He hurried to the blue planet.

Rephael contemplated this revelation as he watched the Lord rush to join His beloved in the coolness of the evening within the beauty of their garden home. He wondered what happened that made the Him rush off so abruptly.

    Genesis 1:1& 2

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
