About this ebook

Rancher Jared Cameron was a mystery to everyone in Jacobsville, Texas and he liked it that way. Only sweet-natured bookseller Sara dared to intrude on his privacy, informing the loner that a book on ogres might be more appropriate for a man of his qualities. Charmed by her audaciousness, Jared seduced the town's plain Jane. But their burgeoning relationship soon thrust Sara into Jared's hidden world of intrigue.

Now the iron cowboy had to steel himself for the fight of his life-- and his heart.

Rancher (and champion secret-keeper) Jared Cameron is a newcomer to Jacobsville. But it took under 60 seconds for the blunt-spoken - okay, rude - man to set book store clerk Sara Dobbs teeth on edge. Even as the sparks the pair strike off one another turn into flames, Jared's past comes back to haunt him. Will keeping Sara safe mean losing her forever?Thematically predictable, but if you like Diana Palmer this one won't disappoint.

I really liked this book...at first. About 1/3 into it, the plot and character development got muddled and lost. The end was predictable and boring.

I don’t usually write reviews and there will one spoiler included in this that I think was inappropriate in the book. Overall the book was pretty good, kept me entertained. What I didn’t care for is that the hero raped the heroine. They don’t use that terminology in the book but when she went to protest he “lost control” and “couldn’t stop”. While she’s sobbing and in pain after the incident he accuses her of trying to get pregnant on purpose. Not the type of thing I expect to find in these types of books therefore I gave it 2 stars. If that had been done differently I would give it 4, maybe 5 stars.
