About this ebook
This is a steamy historical romance short story (word count 4,777).
Caroline is furious with David, the Duke of Sunderland, when she finds out that he has completely ruined her plans to elope with his younger brother.
The worst is yet to come, as she realizes that the Duke means to have her for himself now that his brother is out of the way. He offers her a deal: if she becomes his mistress, he will make sure all of her needs are cared for and that she wants for nothing!
Caroline unwillingly accepts his offer, knowing that she has no other option for her survival. But she cannot help but hate herself for lying with the Duke, especially when she finds that she is unable to control her wanton reaction to his mere touch!

As long as I can remember I have always loved everything and anything to do with the romance genre. Enjoying writing, reading and watching a wide range of love stories. I am a true romantic at heart! So after studying for a philosophy degree and then going on to work in a corporate job in advertising, I decided to reconnect with my passion again! I now write mainly romance short stories, with the aim to share all of my ideas with others who also have an interest in romantic fiction. I write in a range of romance subgenres including erotic romance, contemporary, sweet, paranormal/fantasy fiction and historical. I hope to continue writing as long as my ideas keep flowing out from my mind. In early 2014 I experienced my own personal love story, when I married my one true love. I now live together with my husband in London.

‘Freddie, what took you so long?!’ Caroline turned with excitement as she heard the door open.
‘It’s you!’ Caroline’s large smile left her face immediately as she was confronted with the towering and powerful frame of the Duke of Sunderland, Freddie’s older brother.
‘Where’s Freddie?’ Caroline asked without thinking, disappointment and surprise in her voice.
‘I am sorry to inform you, but my brother will not be making his appointment with you today,’ the Duke responded calmly in his deep, rich voice, ‘nor will he be meeting with you any other time, for that matter.’
‘Oh, I just bet you’re sorry. Please spare me the polite façade, I know you’re far from unhappy with the fact that your brother didn’t turn up to see me today. And I have no doubt that you planned all of this. You stopped Freddie from coming to see me, but I’ll tell you now: you can’t keep Freddie or I away from each other forever, even you don’t have that much power,’ Caroline spoke in complete frustration. She was itching to slap the arrogant expression from his face.
‘Fine, Miss Jacob. You’re looking for the truth, so I will oblige you. As you’ve already guessed, I intervened when I found out about your plan to elope, and I did so with a clear conscience, as I still remain with now,’ he spoke flatly.
‘How can you be so smug? I suppose you can’t understand what you’ve done, since you have no heart to speak of,’ Caroline accused.
‘Miss Jacob, I would
