About this ebook
Book description:
Elvis Presley’s lifespan is the tragic story of a star prisoner of his own success and the circumstances surrounding him. Teenagers dream about becoming rock stars and Elvis wonders, “What can rock stars dream about?” At 23, Elvis has achieved much more than what he has dreamed of in his wildest fantasies, just to end up trapped in his own image, feeling that his life no longer belongs to him. He is trapped inside the machinery he himself has created. This work of dramatic fiction recreates the most significant moments in the idol’s life through anecdotes and his songs, in order to show a chain of situations that lead an idol to pay the price of fame with his own life.

ELVIS
Young people dream about becoming rock stars. And what can we rock stars dream about? My wildest dreams became true at 22. I had achieved what could not even be imagined. I had become a legend. It is hard to be a legend while you are still alive. It is hard to recognize oneself as a legend. I have lived my life trying to avoid getting inside that trap. It is unbearable to experience how people treat you, because I am not a legend but I am trapped inside it, though. Nobody would let you out of it. Nobody so young should be able to have access to total success. It is a curse. Fame is not what it seems to be. Provided people knew what I know, they would not be looking for it at any price. It is much more expensive than it seems. Very few people can afford what it costs. I have not been able to. I have paid with my own life,
Jailhouse Rock
Lyrics and music by: Jerry Leiber y Mike Stoller
The warden threw a party in the county jail.
The prison band was there and they began to wail.
The band was jumping and the joint began to swing.
You should have heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Let's rock, everybody, lets rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancing to the jailhouse rock.
Spider murphy played the tenor saxophone,
Little joe was blowing on the slide trombone.
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang,
The whole rhythm section was the purple gang.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancing to the jailhouse rock.
Number forty-seven said to number three:
You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me.
Let's rock, everybody, lets rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancing to the jailhouse rock.
The sad sack was a sitting on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weepin all alone.
The warden said, hey, buddy, don’t you be no square.
If you cant find a partner use a wooden chair.
Lets rock, everybody, lets rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin to the jailhouse rock.
Shifty henry said to bugs, for heavens sake,
No ones lookin, nows our chance to make a break.
Bugsy turned to shifty
