The novella explores the highly classic themes of confusion, fear, and loss of control. It is set in a high security prison.
In most of his other novels, Stephen King has often presented the chills and breathless horror, but in the present story there is the illustration of psychological torture that the humans go through in a confined space for an uncertain period of time.
It is considered to be one of the best novellas ever written on the psychological torture that the prisoners go through in prison.
