David Carradine
David Carradine, born December 8, 1936, was a popular martial artist and action hero, perhaps best known for his role in the TV series Kung Fu
as the warrior monk, Kwai Chang Caine. He appeared in over 100 films and was a very prolific B
movie star, even receiving four Golden Globe nominations in his career.
On June 4, 2009, he was found dead in his hotel room at the Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. He had been in Thailand filming a movie called Stretch
, and was found naked, hanging by a rope in the closet of the room.

Sadly photographs of Carradine at the scene of his death were released and circulated both online and in newspapers. His family pleaded for privacy so they could mourn their loss in peace.
On June 13, 2009 his funeral was held in Los Angeles, and he was buried in a bamboo casket at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Many celebrities attended his funeral, and his grave proclaims him to be The Barefoot Legend
, a reference to his character in the TV show, Kung Fu
.
A year after he died, his widow, Annie, filed a lawsuit against the company that were producing his last film for wrongful death, claiming that they had failed to provide the assistance to him that was stated in his contract. On the night of his death, his assistant had left for dinner after being unable to contact him and did not investigate why they couldn’t locate Carradine. He was
