The water baptism of believers has been in practice within the Christian church since the Day of Pentecost. However, many have argued over the centuries that infants were baptized as well. Though Christians disagree on whether or not infant baptism did in fact take place, there is a general consensus that by the fifth century at the latest infant baptism was embraced by most of the church. After the Reformation in the 16th century, some Christians then began to reject infant baptism in favor of only believers' baptism. Today, those who believe in the practice of infant baptism are in the minority. In this book, I will examine, discuss and contrast the arguments for believers' baptism versus those for infant baptism. After having done so, I will demonstrate that only believers' baptism is the correct biblical position.
