Anima Sola - LA Lombardi
Man & Boy
Man says to boy, "Life is three truths:
You're young 'till you're old
Old then you die
And the rest is up to you."
Boy looks down at a shallow grave
Man calls it life but it isn’t the same
We dig it ourselves,
the man's grinning teeth
It costs us all but the shovels come cheap.
Man admires the dirt and the boy walks away
It'll come for you tomorrow, if not today!
Boy turns around and his voice never shakes
Then I'd rather not waste it at the foot of a grave.
Castle Walls
Galleries of sighs and hallways of smoke
Painted veils and crowns that have broke
My life's work inside these castle walls
Wine stained glasses atop deserted tables
Shrugged shoulders and rewritten fables
A bitter taste within these castle
