    Conclusion

    Introduction

I’m standing on an empty balcony staring at the dark sky. A few feet away in one of the conference rooms, my colleagues are chatting and having a cocktail. Seems like everybody’s having a great time. I’ve just done a presentation on the efficiency of a new drug on breast cancer. Several colleagues congratulated me on my brilliant presentation.

Less than half an hour after the presentation, I’m feeling really, really drained. I’m exhausted from all the small talk that goes with the typical after talk social conventions. I just had to retreat to the balcony. I looked at the door back to the hall and realized that it’s been ten minutes since I left the conference hall. I just don’t feel like I’m ready to go back in yet.

Can you relate to any part of this situation? If your answer is yes, chances are that you are like me — an introvert! Maybe, just like me, you've had a problematic view of your introvert personality type orientation for quite some time. Maybe you even view being an introvert as a drawback, a hassle, or as some sort of liability.
