- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Reading the poems here gave me goosebumps!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A poetry collection about love, heartbreak, discovery, race, racism, and anger. I don't read poetry. To love poetry you must love the language, I merely like the language. I don't know if these are artful, profound, or even good. I can't properly evaluate these poems. I am a poor judge of poetry. But I liked these poems, that read more like statements than poems. More like open thoughts than conclusions. A collection I could get behind.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Rudy Francisco is currently my favorite poet, I love A Lot Like You, My Honest Poem, Correctly, and Complainers. This volume was fantastic and I can't wait until he puts out another.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5More like 4.5ish. This was my first go at VOLUNTARILY reading poetry that wasn't a classical piece, and I really enjoyed the experience. I actually read the book twice within three days. My second read I closely observed the author's style, how he seemed to play magic tricks with words and phrasing that left many "wow" moments in my head.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing collection, this is the first book of poetry I have read since college and I am so glad I did. Lives, breathes and cries.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5"Some days I forget that my skin is not a panic room"I'm in LOVE with this collection. I'm so happy that Chameleon was recommended to me on Facebook and prompted me to buy this. I love love LOVE when he performs his pieces and it was a treasure to read a collection of his poetry. It's safe to say I definitely cried multiple times reading this. 100% recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This collection of poetry resonated with me. People who feel so much oftentimes have a difficult time putting those feelings into words. Rudy Francisco makes it look effortless. I love the way he expresses himself and makes you feel what he feels so beautifully. I received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5From the opening poem to the last this was a powerful and emotional collection. There is a rawness to his poems that feel very real and visceral. I personally loved section 2 the most where the poems were mostly about love and relationships. I felt the most connection to these.Because the author is a spoken word poet, I highly recommend you listen to his poems on youtube as you can really get the full effect and hear his voice in each more, knowing how he delivers these beautiful words.Truly just breathtaking poetry here.
