Introduction
Your life is a product of your habits. Yes, believe it. You might think that you are in full control of your actions, you might even be under the impression that you think through every decision, but guess again. According to research studies, most people actually decide things on autopilot.
Often times they make decisions seemingly by impulse. When asked to explain their choices, that's when people whip out all sorts of justifications and rational sounding explanations. Don't believe it. Most of it is done habitually.
Keep that in mind because everything about you is somehow, some way, at some level, a reflection of your habits. We're talking about your income, what you look like, how much people like you, and pretty much everything else that's observable about you. All of these stem, in some way, from the habits you have. That's how important habits are.
Sadly, most people just take all of this sitting down. They just assume that they behave the way they behave and their life turned out the way it did because that's who they are and there's really not much they can do about it. They just assume that everything about them, including their habits, is essentially unchangeable. It's just all part of their personality, or even their destiny.
How many times have you heard your friends or family members say, Well, that's just who I am. There's really nothing I can do to change it. That's just the way it goes.
This is a cop out. I know that's kind of hard to hear, I know that sounds pretty harsh, but it's also the truth.
In fact, this mindset splits the world into two camps: Those who are simply lucky and those who aren't so fortunate. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, right? ABSOLUTELY WRONG. You can do something about your level of success, your appearance, and everything else about your life. And it all boils down to changing your habits so they work for you instead of sabotaging whatever success you can achieve for yourself.
Make no mistake about it, if you are unhappy with the results that you're getting in your life, your habits are working against you. The good news is you can do something about it.
You see, habits are automatic emotional and physical reactions that can either compound and scale up to push you up and out to reach your highest potential or... hold you back and drag you down as your life quickly passes in front of you in the form of one meaningless day replaced by another... The good news? You get to choose!
