About this ebook
Fang and Feather book #4. Mikayla Young returns Southside High as a full-time student and part-time Scythian. But there’s one problem: Her adventures in Ireland have completely ruined her phone!
Enter Ian Tellor, the coffee-addicted eccentric of the P&P Club, who offers to find and recover her lost data by using a brand new way to explore the internet: the New World (version 1.3). While online she joins Ian and his friends in the sci-fi/fantasy battle royal game – League of Epic Battlegrounds.
Mikayla has never played Battlegrounds but that won’t stop her from trying her best to win the competition. The stakes are high, the opposition is deadly and the true nature of the New World will be revealed in the exciting fourth book of the Fang and Feather series.
Ben D
Author that has a very long urban fantasy series in my head and pushes it out on a bi-monthly basis. With enough support from my fans I can afford to push it to a monthly series.

So should I start calling you Mikayla Young, Amazon Princess?
Ha, ha.
She earmarks the corner of the page she was briskly skimming through, Not even close, Nyx.
She locks eyes with her desk neighbor as her hand shuts the social studies book with enough force to nearly blow Nyx’s doodle filled paper off of the neighboring desk.
Above the dusty bookcase to her right sits a wall clock that ticks twice before Nyx leans across the aisle. Part-Time Amazon Princess?
Sarcasm is the only kind of response she’s come to expect from Nyx. Last week she would have been highly annoyed at her banter but today, to Nyx’s continued confusion, she has laughed every single time. In her brief weekend away she realized she missed Nyx’s excessive cynicism, the pungent smell of the cheap cleaning formula that, even at the end of the school day, permeates the classroom. She missed all the explicit words and pictures etched into the wooden surface of the desk and the uncomfortably hard plastic chair that it’s attached too. And what she missed most of all is how boring and mundane her Monday has been. Like every other student in the school, nothing of note happened in her life today and that has been just the rejuvenating breath of fresh air she needed.
The bell rings through what’s left of the old sound system and the teacher excuses them to enjoy the rest of the afternoon with his usual lack of enthusiasm. She gathers up her school book from the top of her desk and a pair of books resting in the rack underneath her chair. The first is a Victorian-era love story she needs to write up a book report on before Thursday. The other is a book on the mythology of the Amazon warriors she managed to find in the school’s library. Its contents are barely held together by a layer of spinal tape but if she’s lucky it’ll have some information in it that will help her understand more about the Scythians.
She steps through the doorway a few steps behind Nyx and adds, I almost regret telling you about what happened over the weekend.
She didn’t really but her relationship with Nyx is another one of those things that shows how strange her life is. Not that long ago they barely knew or talked to each other. They were in the same classes and even in the same after-school paranormal club but that was the extent of their relationship. Now, after nearly dying together, she is opening up to Nyx about her personal issues.
As they both turn to the right and head down the crowded hall Nyx asks, Is it ‘almost’ because you loved bragging to me about your new boyfriend?
I don’t have a boyfriend.
She finishes the combination to her locker and opens the door, Finn freaked out just as much as me when Tara said we had to mate.
Nyx’s exclamation is as loud as she assumed it would be, You did not mention that when you told the story.
She places her social studies book on the top shelf between her math books. We were in study hall and I knew you were going have that kind of reaction.
She hears a thud of Nyx colliding with the lockers, she assumes Nyx has crossed her arms and is leaning against the lockers. Well you got me there. So how was it?
She slips her books into her backpack, pulls the pack out of the locker and slams the door shut. Sure enough she finds herself looking at Nyx with her arms crossed leaning against the lockers. We didn’t do anything. Even if I wanted too, which I didn’t, we spent the whole night fighting a water monster, climbing through underground tunnels and finished the night with a two hour hike back to the Scythian camp. We both fell asleep as soon as we got back to the camp.
So you rescued him and didn’t even ask him for a kiss as a reward. You’re such a gentleman, Kayla.
Her face burns hot from a mixture of frustration and embarrassment, You are so….
Nyx puts a finger up to her lips, Shhh. Shhh. Don’t speak. I know what you’re thinking. And I feel the same way about you.
She hastily removes
