    A Perfect Cruise

    Day 1

At Sea, northbound from Vancouver, British Columbia

Become familiar with the ship and avail yourself to its amenities, or stroll on deck watching for whales and gazing at the deep forested islands and emerald waterways of British Columbia’s portion of the Inside Passage.

    Day 2

    Ketchikan, Alaska

Welcome to Alaska! Soar in a floatplane over the towering cliffs of the Misty Fjords. Then follow a rewarding excursion to Saxman Totem Park or Totem Bight State Park with a stroll along historic Creek Street or dry out while learning about the temperate rainforest at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center.

    Day 3

    Juneau, Alaska

Join Alaska’s capital city politicians on a lunchtime stroll along the waterfront, and then hop on the tram up Mt Roberts for a hike amid the peaks that overlook this city’s incomparable setting. If the weather cooperates, join a helicopter excursion to the vast white expanses of the Juneau Icefield. Alternatively, a short jaunt out to Mendenhall Valley will be rewarded with close-up views of Mendenhall Glacier.

    Day 4

    Skagway, Alaska

Experience the ghosts of Alaska’s great Gold Rush with a historic tour of downtown Skagway and an excursion to nearby Dyea, where the prospectors provisioned and set off for the Klondike. In the afternoon, ride the rails into the clouds along the narrow-gauge Yukon & White Pass Railway.

    Day 5

    Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska

Enjoy a day shipboard, cruising through wondrous Glacier Bay. Outside, you’re treated to breaching whales, calving glaciers, wild forested slopes, and surrounding icy peaks that are higher than any in the ‘Lower 48’. Along the way, contemplate that when early explorers sailed through over 200 years ago, this now vast bay lay beneath a sheet of ice 4,000ft (1,220m) thick!
