    Patti DeWitt is a registered dietitian with The American Dietetic Association and has been a practicing clinical dietitian for 29 years. She is in the process of adopting a young girl from China she has named Mai Lin. As Patti waits for the match to her daughter to occur, she passionately wrote this children’s nutrition book with Mai Lin always in mind. Even though Patti is a dietitian, she expects to face challenges like many parents with her child not wanting to eat vegetables. Her goal for this book is to spark the curiosity in children about vegetables and how they taste. Since Patti is an educator, it is important to her for children to learn to associate the English alphabet and colors to vegetables. She encourages parents to read the caption at the bottom of each page of the story to enhance their knowledge on nutrition. Parents can explain this information to their children in a way they will understand. There are many uses for this book. Patti hopes parents who purchase “ABC's The Veggie Way: Mai Lin's Garden Adventure” will enjoy it with their children.
