About this ebook

Addiction to Comfort SECRETS OF ALWAYS MAKING APPROPRIATE MORAL CHOICES?
In regard to all Addictions, I find it is impossible to arrive at an objective and constant standard of truth and morality without bringing Jesus Christ onto the podium. If an important standard of truth and morality exists, it cannot be the product of the sinner, or it will not be impartial or decisive. It must be the result of a far greater Mind, that of the Christ Jesus. If a constant and unchanging truth exists, it must be beyond human timelines, or it will not be continuous, it must be everlasting. If a universal choice of right versus wrong exists, it must go beyond individual understanding, or it will not be universal. It must be above us all. However, absolute truth must be something or someone to free the addicted that is common to all humanity, and to creation. All is found in one person, and He Jesus Christ is the source of all truth. He is the secret of always making appropriate moral choices.....For in each conflict we have....positions us in charge of determining what, is the correct moral choice we can put forward? If our instant thought and or our comeback is that of self-deceptive ends justify the means, your determination is flawed. If your response may be however difficult, but you choose to preserve and improve not only your own human life, integrity and self-respect, you have chosen not to take over Gods role as Creator and Sovereignty over your conflict. Be hopeful and please God, but never partake as God. ......

    PREFACE

It is beyond my comprehension why some people write books that say the same thing as others have said before them. I certainly can testify that writing a book is a lot of work to achieve what is applicable for residing in happiness. I can assure you that this book is not a work of fiction and my message is well worth considering.

If this author is correct, then I have accomplished what I always set out to do when I write. To be straightforward and to come as close as I can to reality. If you the reader is appreciative, then I am complimented.

The title Addiction to Comfort is a doctrine that spells out the common sense of the very fibers and design of our human consciousness. Looking up the word comfort, we find it has many meanings, some are; to soothe, console, relieve, luxury, relaxation or contentment and so on. As you see these words are without doubt have a ring or bell-tone of being incontestable. However, in a fine focus and examination of this word comfort, we soon realize it has the ability to put through the shredder something good and to arrange results into something evil. No! You disagree? Well read on. A glass of red wine is favored, but when alcohol becomes a consistent intoxicating supplement for the comfort of one’s consciousness, it then puts that individual, and also his or her family and personal property, into a category of confrontation, void or default. The same individual that finds the stupor of drunkenness comforting soon plays the part of lying, cheating, stealing etc. which now spreads across the very society he or she live in. Food is first-rate; there is nothing like fresh vegetables, a delicious burger or a good Italian pasta dinner or better yet home-made chicken noodle soup. But, to find comfort in heavy consumption, which is in the misbehavior of gluttony, thus becoming plump or over-weight (fat) as you now understand that seventy-percent in the year 2010 of American citizens are in that circumstance. Let us call that truth of reality by its proper name that is a form of addiction or urge to obesity, thus changing the face of America. We Americans have chosen the Addiction to Comfort, whether it be smoking, food, alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, violent behavior as in spoken vulgarity or physical abuse, prostitution, neglect of family or abandoning marriage vows as regards divorce, and perhaps another one-hundred…and so on. Would you consider stealing a form of addiction or even the unrelenting desire to shop, buy and consume? I do believe you may agree that there are innumerable examples of addiction to comfort. In reaching out further by not patronizing anyone’s intelligence with the addictions that are most common mentioned above, I wish to keep this book title Addiction to Comfort in the political realm where it can more than justify any controversial conversational debate.

    Introduction

    Addiction to Comfort

In keeping this book in the realm of citizen responsibility to one’s God, country, family and government, it gives me the honor to put down in words the consequences or as I see it as the domino effect which will bring about…

Addiction to comfort compromises sanction to lack of concern.

Which in turn determines the loss of courage and will, and with that loss comes the abuse of power, and the surrender of our elected, to fashionable ideas.

Now witnessing the position of conciliation and compromise with evil…

Which all lead to the removable of our indispensable supports of religion and morality…

    1. Addiction to Comfort and Lack of Concern.

    2. Loss of Courage and Will.

    3. Abuse of Power, Yielding to Fashionable Ideas.

    4. Conciliation and Compromise with Evil.

    5. Removable of Religion and Morality.

    Chapter 1

Addiction to Comfort and Lack of Concern

Yes, addiction can be the characteristic trait of its people having little to no concern in necessitating the workings of freedom in society. Some of my readers may disagree with me, and refer to Europe as being in contentment, smugness and or self-righteousness. However, with all the horrors and bloodshed Europe had given birth to, leading up to and including the most destructive of all, in the 20th century. Throughout the centuries, and even millenniums, I am inclined to rather refer to Europe as being in an overwhelming vortex or what astronomers refer to when they speak or write about a quasar, simply put as a black hole. Tending to draw all that is in the vicinity into oblivion, even as much as our entire planet.

In order to understand the reasons for Europe to be in support of this vortex of addiction, one must know its history. In the continuance of holding up the truth I do recommend reading my book titled Reasoning with the Unreasonable. This book will give you the comprehensive reasons why Europe almost cannot help itself being addicted to socialism, thereby once again heading towards domination. The addiction to comfort that leads to lack of concern. Lack of concern in America today by our young people, ranging in ages from eighteen to mid-forties is altering our perimeters in becoming a template very much like Europe. On this date of May 1st 2010, while I am writing this chapter, most of you who reside in that age group are spectators in the cornerstone of the Europeanization of America. That foundation stone is the beginning of our health-care legislation recently passed and signed into law by our President Barack Obama. What the young adults, in their addiction to comfort and lack of concern are "not asking is"; where the money is coming from to pay for this theoretical experimentation into our health care system, from cradle to grave. I trust the reader is not going to consider the words "theoretical experimentation" to strong or prejudicial. A foremost understanding of the health care scheme is; that it has never been attempted before, thereby I submit to call it a theoretical experimentation. Examining the word theoretical in any dictionary, we find it to mean: hypothetical, imaginary, conjectural, speculative and abstract. In other words it was our Congress that agreed and allowed our President to sign into law a scheme that is light years away from being prudent, meaning; sensible, practical, discreet, wise and or far-sighted.

The Democratic administration in charge at this time in history has already sent out feelers regarding what all of Europe’s burden down taxation welfare countries have, which is (VAT) or the Value-Added Tax. Because most Americans do not have any idea what VAT is, I will briefly give you a clear picture of what it is. Note: first, that all of Socialist Europe has had it now for years. Take any product you can possibly think of. Let us take an apple, toilet tissue or a washing machine. These products will all have a built-in-hidden-tax the citizen buyer will never know what the concealed tax is. Government politicians in Europe like this Value Added Tax very much because the buyer doesn’t see any of the concealed compulsory taxes. This burdensome imposition of an additional value-added tax on all things purchased will smother the middle-class and positively make the poor poorer. I just love to provide you examples; When in one of my business trips (1976) to Paris, France, I had a little time to kill, so going in a supermarket I was floored by the price of three-American dollars for a small head of lettuce. In the United States at that time thirty-five years ago a head of lettuce cost only 40 cents. And this is exactly what has occurred and is still driving economies down in Europe, for all practicality the point of no-return has been past. Needless to say, in the United States of America, our spinal back-bone is our many millions of small capitalistic entrepreneur businesses. The question to ask is; can our entrepreneurs keep taking this beating of more and more taxation combined with the spiral of finished products that keep going up in cost. Thereby the hundredths of millions of employees asking and demanding an increase in wages, because of medical-care, education, federal income and real-estate taxes increasing, and just a host of other rates or fees’ going up such as buses, trains, bridges, tunnels and through-ways.

When America’s young adults continue to rest in the addiction referred as the lack of concern, by means of not hearing or seeing the huge gatherings of people across the United States in what they refer to as Tea Parties in order to awaken those addicted to comfort. But however, these same young adults find themselves at a complete loss as to why the so-called washer-machine stops when the spin cycle is finished. They don’t seem to understand their addiction to comfort was encouraged to them by the schools, media and Hollywood in a long term provocative diet to produce this bewilderment, that now their interpretation of truth or reality has left them in a weak, doubting and not caring position. For history in a loud voice cry’s out, to those that will listen, that many in each new generation are gullible and defenseless when the far-left anti-Americans and atheist liberals choose to replace good for evil and evil for good. In our media that disapproves of traditional Judean-Christian principles with the intention of remaking our young America into the old unequaled paradigm as in the continent of Europe, when it comes to running their social welfare countries. Keeping in mind that the socialist liberals of European countries are keen on unionized forces both in and out of their governments, generous benefits that will not tolerate any complaints, free housing that requires obedience no matter how dilapidated or small in living quarters. Every person in Europe boosts of receiving six weeks’ vacation. Most workers pay seventy to ninety percent taxes’ thereby vacations can only suggest staying home, further increasing their apathy and lack of concern. Conservative citizens in America like my-self have always enjoyed the excitement and stimulation of economic growth, thus offering vitality, enthusiasm, motivation and innovation. Being an entrepreneur or as I preferred to call myself, the caretaker of my business, and also a servant for my treasured customers for forty-six years. I am able to give responsible testimony regarding my wonderful employee’s, in that when a recession came about in America, it was a breathtaking awe-inspiring time to relax a little and surge ahead in improvements to grow even larger. Capitalism to me is wearing the robe manufactured together using the thread of Judean-Christian principles, resulting in truly the good life.

A very high percentage (over 80%), of Americans believe and understand that Capitalism proved itself heads-up over the failed utopian society of Socialism. Question, is America at the front doorstep of being addicted to comfort and lack of concern as in Europe? Some of my acquaintances say yes, and some say no, what do you think the future holds for the United States of America, if one measures by the bell-curve of recent past? I will leave you the reader to answer that question, for in due course many smart people have always said, if one doesn’t take interest or study the past history of the behavior patterns their parents had gone through, then one will be condemned to forever be a child by repeating it. Meaning; a failure to improve and to be vigilant over men who wear deceptive masks of zeal that warrant outermost cautiousness in every generation, for in all of the history of man’s struggle on this earth he will repeat it through recessions, depressions, unruly violent conduct and even war.

I’ll try my best to offer you some brief facts that cannot be repudiated or found untrue. In the recent past, going back less than a person’s one life-time into 1950’s 60’s and 70’s, the American government outlays were 10 percent of its GNP…Gross Natural Product, representing a healthy economy and social state of affairs. In the 1980’s and 90’s the GNP was again a healthy 15 percent of our government outlays. In our new 21 century, or if you will accept me saying the pre-Barack Obama years, it had hovered around 20 percent of government outlays of our GNP. If these figures hypothetically were measuring blood pressure, you as a doctor would rightly say that 20 percent is still in the range of normal, however, beyond the blood pressure of 20%, now puts you in the scope of having high blood pressure, which would open the doors too many diseases and a confuse state of affairs.

In the year of 2009 our President Barack Obama, with the help of a stagnate Congress establishing a trillion dollar bailout and a budget that sent our American government outlay to 28 percent of our Gross National Product. It certainly appears from our President on down in our government this year of 2010, our great and proud country is trying hard to emulate Europe and all its uncompromising socialistic ideas. Let us pick just one country in Europe, and let it be what your author of this book considers the leader of the pack. Choosing the country of France, you can take this information to your bank, In France the government outlay in 2010 is 55 percent of its Gross National Product. As most Americans use to say, one doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist, or have crystal-ball to predict the future for France. It is speeding towards a total bankrupt nation. Once again, if our Tea Parties across America do not multiply greatly in every state, to stop and put our Capitalistic Free Enterprise Economy Gears back in a full-unhampered social-system, we will find ourselves imitating Europe’s addiction to lack of concern. If we Americans do wake up, not later, but right now, we may just pull out of this unfortunate debacle that our elected leaders have gotten us in because, too many of them are addicted to comfort, and other addictions thus expunging the good American trust that we always have put in our elected officials.

In further clarification why I have to use worlds’ like unfortunate debacle, I would like to introduce to you Mr. Paul Krugman, he is a popular columnist and economist for Princeton University and for the New York Times, his opinions and editorials are then republished in hundredths of newspapers throughout the United States. His articles appear in the Sun Sentinel across Florida. After reading this chapter 1 of Addiction to Comfort and Lack of Concern, I am sure you will side with me when I oppose the thoughts of Mr. Krugman. When, he wrote this for the far-left New York Times: That in exchange for only a tiny bit less growth, Europeans buy a whole lot of security and comfort. I beg your pardon Paul, I know as well as you, that I am not a popular columnist and economist for Princeton University, that Europeans have a standard of living 30 plus percent lower than America, and have been in a stagnation mode going on now for more than three decades if not longer. What I do not understand is the Why Mr. Krugman you and my President Obama, and all the lefty-liberals, misfit-socialists, and our elected fallacious officials do not honor all of our Founding Fathers, and for all the greatness and goodness American prosperity has brought about onto most countries of this planet.

Some of my friends tell me that I am a conservative, perhaps or maybe I am, I tell them that, if being a Constitutionalist and one who prefers to relate in style and chooses to emulate the Judean-Christian Bible, if that is a conservative, then so be it. Grant me your approval of what I find terribly wide off the mark as a Constitutionalist regarding Europe and the United States of America. In the face of the endless reasons why our leading elected officials in Congress and lobbyist liberals running our government, favor America to function its quasi-socialist economic system wholly like Europe. They are missing the single most significant fact, America cannot become like Europe unless someone else is willing to become like America. Reason: For well over one-hundred and fifty years Europe has been a free-rider. The entire 20th century has proven that paradigm of reality in that it can only afford to be Europe because we can afford to be America. Justification of that realism lies in the fact that the most obvious and mentioned illustration is national defense. In their lessons of time, Europe’s defense budgets have been miniscule because Europeans can count on America’s Uncle Sam to protect them.

Another wake-up call or example is England regarding their slipping into comfort and lack of concern addictions. Remember when Britain had the most credible military during and after the Second World War, following the United States? Well, that has been funded for its comfort inside the deep hole of lack of concern for its defense funds. It has been well-known, that from the years of 1951 to 1997 the British government expenditure on defense has fallen from 24 percent to 7 percent, while on health care and welfare has increased from 22 percent to 53 percent. If America Europeanizes, who is going to protect Europe? Who is going to keep the sea lanes open for the global economy? A serious question all Americans should ask is; who is going contain Iran, North Korea, China and a host of other nations nearest to being a socialist, totalitarian or even a Communistic regime? But, that’s not the only way Europeans are free-riders. Our America to whom God shed His Grace gave us a reputation of creating, inventing, discovering, devising, formulating conceiving or just plain-old generating the impossible probable dreams into technological realism. I am apologetic to have to repeat again, if America is unable to find its common sense and favors to be ever so comfortable with irrational trendy actions, because its citizens are enjoying the lack of concern in the moral leadership of their wondrous Constitution, resulting in being short of innovative and economically a driven people as once were European citizens. Ever since, Europe adopted the policies that have slowly oxidized their pillars of freedom, liberty and true Democracy, by giving up their Christian roots, they have turned their governments into a cooperating direction of confusion, disorder and conflict. These words are not just formulated by me. You can watch this confusion, disorder and conflict every evening on your local television channels. Will tomorrow give America the same consequence, because our Framing Fathers said; removal of religion and morality will be the collapse of our indispensible supports of greatness? Our Founding Fathers knew very well their world history, and the reasons why great economic, and extremely powerful empires all too soon found their greatness wasted and decaying literally into nothingness. They (our Founding Fathers) beyond any doubt believed that the Judean-Christian words in the Holy Bible, and the Ten Commandments were to be taken word for word literally, and if so, it meant a full virtuous responsibility in the behavioral mind-set to church, family, neighbor, and to all state and federal government officials. Because, the proud Americans knew, their country was a country of laws and not of men. These 55 Framers of our Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights were all positive of one very special fact or reality. That reality was in those two words Religion and Morality".
