About this ebook

I was going through some bizarre experiences and experiencing sustained witchcraft attacks for about forty-two years. I was not prepared for these bizarre encounters and so didnt understand what was happening. I only felt the pain, hurt, and social ostracism associated with the attacks. God took over my battles; He taught me how to pray in warfare, sustained me in the trial, took over my battles, and uplifted me in sustained victories. The world must hear my story and know that God is alive, the same yesterday, today, and forever, so that someone else somewhere, going through similar unexplained problems would find succor and solutions to their problems.

Through these experiences, I explored the linkages of such attacks to the better understanding, management, and treatment of mental health and behavioral problems of today, and the respective roles for churches, parents and individuals.

    THE DIVINE MISSION

"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust’. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence; He shall cover you with His feathers; and under His wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lay waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord who is my refuge, even the Most High your dwelling place; No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge of you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up; lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample under foot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him; with long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation." (Psalm 91:1-16)

Sometime in 2007 and later on April 14, 2011, I had the inspiration to write my experiences in books to honor God Almighty, for taking me through unforgettable life changing experiences between 1970 and 2010. The journey of course started many years earlier when I was born in Lagos Nigeria, but the peculiarities intensified about forty-two years ago. I was in bondage, my life was being manipulated by sorcerers and witches; I felt it, but didn’t know what it was or what was happening to me. I couldn’t describe the problems to people because they wouldn’t understand or believe me; even I did not know what was happening to and around me at first, let alone articulate this intelligently to others. So I turned to God and sought answers and His deliverance; I had no other option. Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

The purposes of these writings are mainly to honor and glorify God, to show He lives—the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, to share with many others who are experiencing life’s challenges, to strengthen others who are in transition from one season of life to another, to offer support to others seeking answers to whatever is happening in their lives right now, to encourage many others out of lethargy, to lead people to God, to guide others in bondage towards deliverance and freedom, and to confirm that prayer to God truly and really works.

The urgency to write remained an undying force even while I was running a Management & Business Consulting practice from 2001 to 2008. I tried to write several times about Human Resources consulting experiences; I even started in 2007 but didn’t complete the book until 2008 when I relocated. Then something told me to write about my bizarre experiences for the world to read and for people to learn from these experiences, but put it off again and again. I was busy trying to gain full time employment or independent Consulting. At other times, certain unusual developments aborted these efforts I had made at full employment while in the US, from 2008 to 2011. In spite of the economic depression and all these challenges, the Lord said He had given me employment. I was looking in the wrong places, the job I was to do had already been given to me—the book project. Throughout these experiences described above, the Holy Spirit reminded me from time to time, of the book project I was assigned to do while doing some temporary or part time work.

So, by the middle of October 2010, allowing the will of God, I started to seek divine guidance as to what to write, how to write, what to focus on in the book, and other preparations needed for the project. By early December 2011, I started to put down ideas and thoughts about the book project. In the middle of December 2011, I started the draft of the first of what I hope will be many books in the series, As soon as I started, I couldn’t stop; the information just poured out of my head until I completed the book at the end of February 2012.

I know you will enjoy the experiences I will describe, the hope they will inspire, and the strength they will encourage in you.

    INTRODUCTION TO THE BOOK

This book titled ‘A Life of Divine Victories… an incredible journey in the arms of God’ is written as simple narrations of spiritual experiences and journey of about forty-two years, of an ordinary professional woman to all others who might be facing life’s challenges, who may not be able to discuss in any meaningful way with others around, because they do not understand the issues experienced by that individual. As the problems increased and compounded, I was sure God was punishing me for my many sins and so I prayed more, fasted more, did more penance and resolved to seek more righteousness in all aspects of my life. This change worked for me, strengthened my faith, and took me in the direction of my destiny. As with most people in my generation, I grew up with the idea of ‘God of punishment’ more than anything else. Later on I understood that God is more compassion, loving, forgiving, and wholesome. I do not write as a scientific, extensive research based material for teaching. I am not a trained Pastor or teacher wishing to impact learning as in a class. There are many excellent scholastic literatures in the market place which fulfill that role. I only wish to share my learning from real life experiences with others. I hope to bring something different to readers in the series of writings. I will discuss and share unique personal spiritual experiences with readers in this incredible journey I went through in the arms of God, using the following outline-

    DEDICATION

    This book is dedicated to Jehovah El Shaddai;

    FORWARD

I was born as the last of a family of five children, four boys and one girl, me; the first of the boys died in childhood so we never really got to know him, leaving four of us. I was a late child and a pleasant surprise to my parents. We were a middle class family, with educated professional parents. My father was a church organist, teacher and later an Attorney for several years; while my mother was an active member of the church and a Social Welfare Officer working extensive hours to support families and children from challenging homes. So that we might understand our heritage fully, my father wrote his autobiography and gave each of us a copy. In that document, he reiterated the family’s commitment to the Almighty God and the Catholic faith. This family heritage makes my brothers and I, fifth generation Catholics, and anointed instruments for God’s purposes on earth. By God’s holy anointing, all of us descendants of these families are not candidates for any satanic cult, sorcery and witchcraft. My brothers and I were raised as Catholic children, innocent and shielded from the world of evil, witchcraft, demonic realities, and activities, often spoken in whispers not to the ears of children. Sooner or later, unprepared Christian children would meet children of witches in schools, in churches or at work. It is better to open up the discussion, educate children early, and arm them with divine Godly Biblical weapons, before they go into the world.

I studied Psychology, and hold a bachelor’s degree in that subject. I also hold the Master of Business Administration MBA. In the Clinical Psychology class, I learned about Psychological and Psychosomatic illnesses of varying degrees. I have also studied, worked, lived, and travelled between Africa, Europe, and the United States (US). Most Western treatments for psycho-pathology has focused consistently on the physiological, critical aspects of the sociological, but hardly recognizes the important aspects of the spiritual. If man exists in the body, spirit and soul, it then follows that any treatment of human psychological pathologies, must address his physical body, his mental health and his spiritual health. Ironically modern science had discovered the effect of the ‘mind over matter’, but the linkages between both, had so far not been fully adopted by scientists. The effects of the soul as an influencer over the mind had been largely ignored in the treatment or management of the psychopathologies of the mind, which reflect themselves in the life, behavior or physical health of the person. This contrasts the Eastern and the Developing worlds’ alternative approaches, which use vocalized prayers to the patient, and herbal remedies for the body, while treating him at home or/and within the community. The ancient Chinese healing practices, the Native American, and the Native Mexican healing practices, all recognize and focus on the spirit, soul, and body, using both herbal and prayerful incantations in their healing practices. These methodologies use these comprehensive therapies and the spiritual prayer rituals on the ‘being’ (or spirit) of the patient because they understood the inseparability of the body, soul, and spirit. I refer to the ground-breaking Mental Health researches of Professor Thomas Adeoye Lambo,OBE. (1923-2004). He was the eminent scholar and Neuro-Psychiatrist from Abeokuta Nigeria, and also formerly the Deputy Director General of the W.H.O. (1973-1988). He was one of those who first proposed and adopted the practice of Home/Community based management of mental illnesses. It is in such an environment that prayers or prayerful incantations are usually applied during the treatment of the patient, with significant degree of successes.

The consequence of the limited approaches is that mental health problems become compounded, and often elude conclusive resolution, management, and treatment. According to various popular literatures on mental and behavioral sciences, they record a steady rise in cases of socio-pathology and psychopathology. In addition to physiological causes, substances abuses and environmental factors were listed as the usual culprits. What is more, new types of pathologies are being discovered or labeled periodically.

The World Health Organization W.H.O’s Mental Health Atlas 2011 summarized findings from a global research on the subject as follows:

    • Resources to treat and prevent Mental Health Disorders remain insufficient.

    • Resources for Mental Health are inequitably distributed.

    • Resources for Mental Health are inefficiently utilized.

    • Institutional care for Mental Health disorders may be slowly decreasing worldwide.

The research also showed that there is a substantial gap between the burden caused by mental health disorders, and the resources available to prevent and treat them. It is estimated that four out of five people with serious mental disorders living in low and middle income countries do not receive mental health services that they need. The mission of the W.H.O in the area of mental health is to reduce the burden of mental disorders and to promote the mental health of the population worldwide. However, this responsibility cannot be fulfilled satisfactorily if countries lack basic information about the existing infrastructure and resources available for mental health care. The report further stated these findings:

Neuropsychiatric disorders are estimated to contribute to 13% of the global burden of disease. Though the extent of the burden varies from country to country, neuropsychiatric disorders account for a substantial amount of the disease burden in every country of the world. Moreover, results from previous editions of the W.H.O. Atlas suggest that the gap between burden and resources is large.

Mental hospitals are present in 80% of countries. Countries where mental hospitals do not exist include small islands in
