About this ebook
For years, Jason Lewis has firmly believed that the best investment a couple can make is taking time to truly understand how their finances work. Those couples that choose to read this book and follow its six basic actions steps will no doubt increase their income but most importantly protect what they have and begin to build wealth.
By reading this book couples we come to understand that in order to be successful with your finances you must be willing to take ACTION. Your success has less to do with how smart you are or how much information you have accumulated and more to do with the ACTIONS you take to implement the information you have gathered.
In Rich COUPLE$ Getting Back to Financial Basics, couples will learn to change the way they thinking about money and expand their financial context. They will also learn the basics of financial literacy and how to use that knowledge to take action.
Remember knowledge builds confidence, and confidence leads to action.

Jason Lewis graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor in Leadership. Upon graduation, he commissioned as an Officer into the Georgia Army National Guard where over the past eight years he has lead Soldiers while deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a significant part of his story because he had always assumed he’d work for the military until retirement. However, things have a way of changing and after a very expensive mistake upon returning from his first deployment, Jason began taking planning for his financial future seriously. What he didn’t know about money became clear to him and he chose to break the cycle of poor money management and start to think and act like the wealthy. Financial Education has become more than just a subject of interest for Jason… it has become his business. He simply made the decision to take control of his life, finances, and business. Once he did, the perfect opportunities opened their doors. Now in his first book “Rich Couple$ Getting Back to Financial Basics,” Jason imparts his hard-earned personal knowledge about finances in a straightforward, down-to-earth manner. Not an economics major, Jason is just your average Joe who wants to help others achieve their financial dreams. Jason lives in Statesboro, GA with his amazing wife Deserra and they are expecting their first child Ryean Jean in September 2012. Jason would like to learn about your experiences using “Rich Couple$ Getting Back to Financial Basics.” Please share with him at jason@yourstylenow.com.

Foreword

Deserra D. Lewis
It is with a great sense of pride and appreciation that I write this ‘foreward’ introducing readers to Jason Lewis’s book, Rich Couples Getting Back to Financial Basics.
This well-written, easy to follow book offers its readers a way to develop a written cash flow plan designed to help them evaluate their financial means and start living the life of their dreams. Jason has many professional contacts in which are all more knowledgeable in the area of financial education than I am. However, I am quite certain that his decision to choose me to write this important component was to extend the reality and everyday application of his teachings to his audience. Who better to write the ‘foreward’ of a book about couples getting back to financial basics than the wife of the author? My viewpoint will offer you a simple explanation of the book with the hopes that you are better able to relate to the principles being explained throughout.
You may be wondering what sets this book apart from the thousands of other books on finance and financial education. Furthermore, you may be wondering why even read and apply the ideas that are in this book to your life when you have so many other options. Both are very valid questions. I would say that the answer is simple. Take a look at what you have been doing in life financially and the position you are at this very moment. Are you where you want to be? Chances are that you aren’t if you picked up a copy of this book. I have done my share of reading many books that fall within the category of finance and financial education, however, the simplistic approach this book takes will amaze you. For the most part, we all have the same goal of living our lives as happily and free as possible. This book will offer the tools you need in order to achieve that lifestyle.
Jason’s immense passion for sharing his knowledge of financial education with others shines through in this book. He has developed a fool proof, and perhaps more importantly, a simple plan that is to be followed in order to ensure its success. Numerous seminars, readings, and correspondence with other financial professionals qualify him to write on such a popular topic. His plan includes six very basic steps that when followed, help couples start achieving their dreams. The book is broken down into chapters that offer explanation and applicable tasks for each action step. Furthermore, the book offers its readers visual aids and forms that will ultimately help simplify the process even more.
In the first chapter of the book, action above knowledge is described as the golden nugget
to one’s financial freedom. It astounds me that such a simple word like ‘action’ can create so much hesitation and fear in so many. The reality though is that it does, which is why I would say that this type of a challenging, yet non-threatening system is long overdue. This chapter continues as it offers readers a way to understand how to use the book and where to begin. It also gives a brief overview of what is to come later in the book. As you continue through the book,
