Eliza Taye
Eliza Taye has always had an insatiable desire for stories of any kind, whether they be books, audiobooks, video games, films, or plays. If it has a story element to it, she enjoys it. After obtaining a marine science degree, she became inspired to write sci-fi in addition to the fantasy stories she wrote growing up. Two material things Eliza could never live without: books and music. She never leaves the house without at least one book and a way to listen to music. Music fuels her passion for storytelling, allowing her to daydream that she’s defeating bad guys, exploring unknown worlds, or wielding swords of destiny, when in reality, she’s just writing about it. She writes sci-fi, fantasy, and action adventure novels for young adults.

Chapter 1
Jessica Jenkins, affectionately known as JJ, strode up to the edge of the balcony of the T2N building in London. An assembly of people from around the world were taking their seats in the tens of rows at the bottom level of the auditorium. Each person was part of a delegation from every single country in the world. Only those belonging to the T2N’s secret council would be allowed into the secret room in the basement sublevel. Only they would be deciding the future fate of humanity.
And she was one of them.
The representative of Great Britain, she would be speaking for her people. As part of the T2N, or Top 20 Nations, they were responsible for safeguarding the future of all mankind. The Top 20 Nations were economic powerhouses with some of the largest populations of Great Plague survivors. The T2N was formed a year after the end of the plague to help the world rebuild. Great Britain had been one of the first to join, but they too had been greatly affected by the worldwide plague of 2083—over half of their island’s population had died.
Five years had passed since a cure had been discovered and the plague died down. Yet, the fear and paranoia still lingered. The world was afraid of what to do next. What would happen if this ever occurred again? For years people were too terrified to make a decision about it. Not anymore. Yes, 2094 would be a different year.
Sighing, Jessica turned away from the railing and headed for the elevator at the top of the balcony steps.
