Jenna Sikka is a PhD candidate in sociology at Syracuse University. She holds an MA in sociology from Syracuse University and a BA from Maharaja Sayajirao University in India. She is the recipient of a Bharati Memorial Fellowship, and her academic work involves Indian migration and diaspora.
This article reviews the Eastern world religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Confucianism. The origins, core beliefs and practices, and modern-day practice and adherents are discussed
