Quick Notes on “The Trump Tax Cut - Paul David Franklin

    Introduction:

Thank you for your purchase! We have made every effort to distill the essence of Eva Rosenberg’s book to help you save both Time and Money!

Eva Rosenberg’s website is TaxMama.com and the reader may wish to get additional information from that site.

Here are the official IRS documents regarding the tax reform package:

Other links to IRS documents have been made throughout the text for your convenience.

Rosenberg’s book has been frustrating to summarize. The original will strike the reader as a previous book updated to account for the new tax law sponsored by the Trump administration. Unfortunately in many instances throughout the text the update occurs after the reader has waded through a section that was pertinent under previous tax law. This summary hopes to save the reader some of that frustration.

One strong point about her book is that she looks for ways to make assets pay for themselves and discusses social security issues.

Common complaints about the book seem to be that many of the tips the original work provides are helpful, but have nothing to do with the tax law in question which is the subject of the book. Also, much of the advice seems best suited for the rich, not middle class tax payers.

The bottom line is that the most glaring changes in the Trump tax law relate to the provisions regarding State and Local Taxes or SALT.
