Introduction
For guitarists coming from a pop/rock background the guitar is often used for playing either chords or melody but not both at the same time. This book will give you some ideas on how to get started on making your own fingerpicking arrangements where you can play both melody and accompaniment simultaneously. We will use a well-known children's song, Mary had a little lamb, as an example to build a fingerpicking arrangement and look at music theory and options for keys and positions. We will also look at some variations and how you can make a simple melody sound much more interesting.
Lastly, we combine some of the things from the previous chapters to make new fingerpicking arrangements of two other melodies.
