About this ebook

This isn’t a book full of rules on How You Should Write Your Book.

First off, I don’t even know all the rules to writing, at least not in any instructional sort of way. For every rule identified by an expert, you can easily find someone else who did the exact opposite and somehow managed to create a kick-ass story.

This is a book about how I understand darkness, its place in story, and how I make dark fiction that people enjoy reading.

I'll show you my process. How I feel my way through a story, looking to dig deeper into the psyche of my characters, plots, and themes.

At its heart, this book isn’t just about the dark, but also the light. And in our darkest times, it's more important than ever that we hold onto the light.

But first, we must be willing to explore the darkness.

Author

David Wright

David Wright's interest in the TT goes back over fifty years to the era when the Italian machines of Gilera and MV Agusta dominated the races in the hands of riders like Geoff Duke, John Surtees and Carlo Ubbiali. A constant follower of Island racing ever since, he greatly admires the performances of today's TT-winning machines from Japan and the riders who have the courage and talent to race over the famous Mountain Course. David is the author of several books including Vincent - The Complete Story and 100 Years of the Isle of Man TT, both published by Crowood.
