About this ebook
"Good night sweet dreams," says Amos's Mum every night. Amos usually stays awake for a while though. It's never boring in bed. Not with a troll in his room, a teepee in the corner, a scary moth on his wall and a dreamcatcher over his bed.

Amos Has to Go to Bed - Eva Markert
The Blankie
Tonight, Mum doesn’t say: Good night, sweet dreams.
There’s no point because Amos just keeps yelling My blankie, I want my blankie!
Fat tears roll down his cheeks.
His blankie is an old terry towel. It used to be a small light pink towel and it is a little frayed around the edges. Amos likes to hold it near his face when he falls asleep. It feels wonderful. So nice and coarse. He just loves nuzzling against it.
The blankie always smells especially good after Mum has washed it, which she does often. However, it always looks a little grey.
Amos can’t fall asleep without his blankie. That’s why he cries, I want my blankie.
Mum and Amos looked everywhere for the blankie, but they couldn’t find it.
Mum is also quite upset. She sits down on Amos’s bed and says, Please stop shouting! Your blankie won’t come back just because you are yelling. Why don’t you think about where you saw it last?
But it’s always on the pillow!
cries Amos.
Did you take it with you anywhere?
Mum wants to know.
I only ever take it to bed.
His sobbing makes it hard for Mum to understand him.
There is only one thing left to do,
says Mum. I have to call Mrs. Kettlewell and ask her if she has seen your blankie.
Mrs. Kettlewell comes once a week to clean the house. Amos hasn’t met her yet because she has only been to the house three times and that was when he was at preschool.
Mum stands up to get her phone, but stops suddenly. I know where your blankie could be,
she says, come on, let’s take a look.
She takes Amos by the hand. He is eager to find out where she is going to take
