sometimes wonder what the Greek philosophers would think about us today. I imagine Plato or Socrates observing young couples conduct entire conversations through WhatsApp on their phones while sat across from each other at dinner and I can already imagine them slapping themselves in the forehead. And, yes, I am aware there is an emoji for this gesture. No, I do not imagine Plato messaging this to Socrates on his iPhone. I am quizzical as to what they would say about people meeting their potential spouses through an application that allows them to form a one-second impression of an image projected on the screen of their mobile phones before they swipe left or right, before they’ve ever spoken a word to one another. And, most of all, I wonder what they would make of social media. Because
