INTRODUCTION
Throughout the world, there exists only a handful of dog breeds that can be consistently described as loyal, adaptable, intelligent, and industrious. One of these dogs is the Australian Cattle Dog. Although originally bred in Australia for the purpose of herding cattle in the 1800s, the cattle dog has proven itself to be a remarkably adaptable breed in recent years, taking on a variety of roles in (and out) of the traditional household. This work examines the Australian Cattle Dog and provides an in-depth analysis of the animal’s behavioral patterns, temperament, and general traits. It is the author’s hope that a better understanding (and appreciation) of this remarkable breed
