About this ebook

“You a skinny, black, ugly, lil girl!”

Those were the words that constantly rang in Alandria’s ears during her youth. The people who were supposed to love and protect her were the ones who taught her how to hate and devalue herself.
A lack of self-awareness and a negative perception sent her on a dangerous quest searching for something she wished she always had---love. Her journey to find love caused her to seek validation between the sheets, which led to teen pregnancy.

Dark days overshadowed the three-time teen mom as she found herself burying two children by the tender age of sixteen.
The death of her children caused her to spiral down a path of depression, suicidal thoughts, and reckless behavior. After a serious of toxic relationships, Alandria decided it was time to face the real problem---herself.

“I’m Coming Out: Overcoming Everything That Tried to Overtake Me” is a story of the phoenix rising from the ashes caused by the fire of life. It’s also a testament to how powerful one becomes when they learn who they are and whose they are.

-- Alandria lays her story bare for others to glean from.
With unbridled vulnerability, unapologetic candidness, and biblical insight, Alandria’s words will help you:
•Detox your emotions to create space for healthy relationships.
•Embrace the painful experiences of your life as catalysts to propel you into your God-given destiny.
•Overcome the wounds from your personal life experiences to walk in the wholeness that God intends for you.
This book is a reminder that our experiences through the fire don’t have to leave us shattered or broken forever – but with God’s grace, we can experience wholeness and recovery in a tangible way.

    Conclusion

    Introduction

God why did you do this to me?

Why did you pour so much extra melanin in my skin and mold me to look this way?

You knew people would criticize and ostracize me!

Those were questions I used to ask God after being bullied because He made me a dark-skinned black girl. I felt that He handed my enemies tools to tear me apart. My family members were the first to sign up for the job. Typically, family members are those who are supposed to nurture, support, and protect. But what happens when they become predators and see you as easy prey?

Instead of loving and protecting me, those closest to me taught me how to hate myself, which made me vulnerable to attacks from others. They used my flaws as fuel to ignite a fire that would burn me later in life. I was ugly, unloved and unprotected. As a result, I battled depression and suicidal thoughts as a child. Too afraid to kill myself at the age of seven, I discovered something else that would take my pain away.

Before the age of ten, I became addicted to pornography. Porn stars were my first sexual education instructors. Due to feeling physically unattractive, I desperately sought validation and affirmation from guys. I used what I knew, to get what I wanted and all of this happened before the age of twelve. This reckless behavior led to consequences that I’m still paying for to this day.

Within the pages of this book, you will see how the enemy created a plot to kill me, but God kept me. Not only did He keep me so my story could give Him glory, but He spared me to help other women save themselves from the snares of life. My story is a testament that the phoenix will always rise from the ashes caused by the fire of life. Prepare yourself to be educated on how the enemy confuses us as children to prevent us from walking in confidence as adults and be prepared to be empowered by receiving tools to implement in your personal life so that you too can come out of everything that tried to overtake you!

    The Genesis

It was a warm day in April of ‘84 when I cracked the womb and entered the world. I was raised in a two-parent household along with a brother thirteen years my senior. I was always referred to as the old woman by the mothers at church because I was wise beyond my years. I was a quiet child. I learned early on that the quieter you are, the louder you can hear.

Besides that, people aren’t always who they pretend to be, so it’s better to watch and listen before you entertain and embrace. Even though I had a brother, I always felt like an only child. As I stated previously, he was older than me, so we didn’t relate or have a lot in common. I’ve always loved my brother, but I can’t say that he felt the same in return. There wasn’t a closeness between us, and he made me feel like life was better before I came along.

My mom was pregnant with a child a year before I was conceived but that baby passed away at birth. The vibes I used to get from my brother made me feel like I should have died, then
