    About Debbie Mumford

    Chapter 1

Idreamed of him again last night. The unbelievably handsome man with long black hair and eyes as dark as a winter night. I’ve dreamed of him many times in the eight years since my sixteenth birthday. Always the same dream. He smiles at me and tells me I am his destiny and he is mine… and that he waits for me in sky.

Not in the sky, but in sky. I’ve never understood what he meant by that odd phrase. How can he wait for me in the sky? When I was younger, I wondered if I should apply to train as an astronaut, but astrophysics and the science of flight never held any appeal. Instead, I majored in history. Celtic history, to be exact, and in my studies, I found a clue to this mysterious man’s comment.

What if he wasn’t speaking of the atmosphere above the earth, but of the Isle of Skye? Could the man of my dreams be waiting for me on an island off the coast of Scotland?

Last night he answered some of my questions. He told me that the time is near, that his name is Angus MacDubh and he waits for me in Skye, on the Trotternish peninsula at the table of the kwa-ring. I’ve no clue where that is (or even what it is), but a little Internet research should clear up the mystery.

I don’t know whether or not it’s a prudent choice, but I’m going to Skye. After eight years of dreams, it’s time to find out if Angus MacDubh is a real man or just a figment of my imagination. At least Skye is real. I’ve always wanted to travel and I can justify this trip to my family as part of my research for my doctoral thesis.

They don’t know about my dream man… and I’m not about to tell them. At least, not yet.

    Chapter 2

Irose and dressed quickly in tan walking shorts, red T-shirt, and the sturdy hiking boots I’d broken in on hikes around my
