Hidden gem

Looking back over Fabio Salmi’s past, it’s as if the Italian designer was destined to become the yacht owner’s jeweller of choice. For one thing, he knows boats – and loves them too.

“When I was growing up, my parents had a beautiful 1950s wooden sailing yacht,” he reminisces. “We’d spend every summer going around the Mediterranean – Positano, Capri, Sicily.” On other occasions, his mother and father would escape for trips around the Greek islands, leaving the rest of the brood back home. “Listen,” he laughs, “there were four of us boys
